General [TRK] Star Trek

Yeah, a lot of cards feel like they're very conservatively costed outside of stuff like Deanna... who I suspect is more of a matter of WotC trying to figure out how cheap they have to make that effect before people will want to play with it outside of limited.

Oh hey, they are making this a cycle. I still think it's a shame that you can't cash it in for the gold land token until you have six lands, but the text box is already pretty full so whatever.

Weird. As powerful and flexible as the effect looks, I'm not sure why you'd want to cube it over something like Hall of Storm Giants or Faerie Conclave.

(What power level is good ol' Celestial Colonnade at these days?)

This looks sweet as hell, especially if you either run Planets for fixing or are on many Nearby Planets for whatever reason :btg:.

This will see play in a lot of cubes and I'm already lamenting the fact that it will. I'm not saying that Good-Fortune Unicorn is what peak performance looks like, but it's hard to deny the power creep now that's it's just ok to make it mono colored, shave off 1 mana, and keep the same effect and stat line.
This card is pretty neat, it's basically a "fixed" Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit that is easier to play outside of mono-White and doesn't have a bespoke keyword.

A few people have pointed out that this is usually worse on average than something like Luminarch Aspirant, which is nice to see here because I think that card is fun in theory but snowballs too quickly in practice. I like it when they take the chance to "backfill" design space that already has very powerful options, because it gives people who aren't powermaxing the opportunity to play a cool effect class without needing to play something broken. In this case, a card between Luminarch Aspirant and Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit is a cool thing to print!
