Gunna crash this looks-like-a-pop party with my favorite band, since I'm listening to them right now.
And their older, more turntably stuff:

Man, did I post these guys before?

Pepe Deluxé is awesome! Still sad that Queen of the Wave isn't on Spotify. Awesome album! Also, this:

Back to Saint Motel: My Type is an awesome song, but this video clip is even better!

Aesop Rock has a collab with Nike a while back for like a 50 minute run track. I've had it on my ipod forever, listened to it every now and then, but now that I've started running at the gym it's pretty much the only thing I listen to while on the treadmill. And I hate cardio. Somehow 15-20 min isn't so bad when I'm just trying to focus on the beats and breaks.

I hear video game soundtracks are good for concentrating, so I've been listening to this one while I've been writing this personal statement I need for a masters:

Any other recommendations? Amon Tobin's soundtrack for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is badass, but not too good for concentrating.

Bastion is one of my favourite games of the last gen, and that soundtrack is boss!

I really like the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack, too. It's super cheerful.

Oh bastion makes my heart feel good. I love some old westerny sounding music, but there's so much more going on in the sound design of that game. It's all amazing

I fuckin love VGM.

I don't use youtube for music, because it makes my computer unnecessarily hot and slow, so these won't be youtube links. SORRY, but not really sorry, about that.

DDRKirby makes some hella dope remixes. These are my 2 favorites.

He also has original works on Bandcamp, which means you can throw him a dollar and download it all in good quality. Bandcamp is great.

Unfortunately the artist for Shadowrun's music doesn't use bandcamp, but soundcloud is almost as good. His demo reel has some cool stuff in it; I REALLY like the Menu Music Loop for Golem Arcana.

I've listened to the Dustforce sountrack over, and over, and over. Haven't played the game yet. Pillars of Pepper is my fave.

All of this is good: http://benprunty.bandcamp.com/
This is mostly good: http://tigerstyle.bandcamp.com/

For HW/studying I've used this track a lot over the last 3-4 years. So soothing.

And as for video game music, I would often just walk around this level back in middle school just to listen to the track. So good.

That was a game I could not get into, despite really trying to multiple times. It felt too hipster to me, for lack of a better term.

I loved Sword & Sorcery. The constant nagging about tweeting your progress is kinda annoying, but I love everything else about that game.

I know exactly what you mean. Some of the dialogue is unbearable, particularly the host/narrator. Looking past that, though, I thought it was a really wonderful game. The aesthetics somehow create a feeling of wonder that makes me feel like a little kid again.
