    BEHOLD! A MASTERPIECE!

I think the answer is neither, tbh. Goblin Rabblemaster is the one true king, and I think you generally only want one of this effect.

Can I just say that I'm really annoyed that this doesn't destroy an artifact?

Cartel Aristocrat always felt a little bit below the power level I was going for. Paying 1 for the sacrifice effect is annoying, but deathtouch and indestructible is probably better than protection. Maybe?

Actually, I think Gutterbones returning to your hand makes it better than Dread Wanderer. You can discard it repeatedly for value, like a more aggressive Squee, Goblin Nabob.

I wanna run her just because she says 'Scourge Diva.'

The most recent episode of Limited Resources has Paul Cheon on as a guest, and he's talking about his design philosophy with the Vintage cube. It's a pretty interesting listen getting a designer's perspective from someone at WotC who has to design for everyone, rather than our own idiosyncratic...

Manamorphose Can this work in cube, particularly one with spell trigger and spell velocity themes? Or is it constructed only?

Yeah, none of the individual mechanics in GRN are super interesting. You've got slightly different scry, slightly different flashback, count the number of creatures in my graveyard, convoke again, and mentor the only mechanic interesting in and of itself because it messed with your combat trick...

Ah, damn. I knew there had to be an easier way to do it. I didn't know about the year option. I didn't see it on the advanced options page. I should've checked the syntax guide.

Damnit, I forgot about Battlebond. And GS1. And Game Night. Although I don't really think there are any cubable cards from the last two, it's still an oversight. Here's the more complete search.

Here's a scryfall search in case you need a reminder. Warkite Marauder Dauntless Bodyguard Shalai, Voice of Plenty The Mirari Conjecture The Eldest Reborn Vicious Offering Fight With Fire Grow from the Ashes Tatyova, Benthic Druid Teferi, Hero of Dominaria Militia Bugler Stitcher's Supplier...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I had Jaya in a DOM draft and she wasn't that great. She was hard to cast, and she generally let me loot a few times or cheat on kicking a Grow from the Ashes and then died. Now, granted I was GR, so she may have just been a poor fit for my deck, but I was not super impressed. Which breaks my...

I think Multani is just a cooler card, and I like his resilience to removal. He's plays the same role as Carnage Tyrant - a big green finisher that is a pain in the ass to remove, but way more interesting than a dumb pile of stats with a couple keywords. Meanwhile. Blossoming Defense vs...

Oh sure, Primadox sucks. But that doesn't mean that the basic idea of the deck isn't sound. Temur Saberthooth is a much more cubeworthy card that enables all sort of shenanigans. Consider: [ci=small]Temur Sabertooth Burning-Tree Emissary Outpost Siege [/c]

    General ETB Combo Archetype

The best example of this archetype I can think of actually comes from Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013. Check out Yeva's deck, Ancient Wilds. It was fun as hell to play. It leaned heavily on Roaring Primadox and Erratic Portal (and Thragtusk...). It's where I would begin for inspiration.

Is there a reason you have to put any indication on the card at all? You can't just stick the alpha cards in their own box and shuffle them in to the first packs? Knowing that a card is an alpha card shouldn't affect your drafting decisions at all.

As a counterpoint, I love Borderland Explorer because it still enables discard shenanigans (not as well as Mongrel, to be sure, but well enough) AND it has the added benefit of reducing non-games by giving both players some filtering. Plus, 3/1's are good on defense, which is generally where...
