I've found the Lancers to be decent. It's rare for white to gain card advantage and this guy delivers. It's better than drawing a card since you tutor and the stats are actually decent. Plus he has the right types for some tribal decks. Sagas, Planeswalkers, random legendary creatures or...

Velrun, you make a great point about the artifact theme. I got lost in the combo and lost sight of what I wanted to do! If I were to try to salvage that particular one, I would add Scrapyard Recombiner and Steel Overseer for Ranger-Captain of Eos and Mikaeus, the Lunarch. Both care about...

Here is an attempt at the white artifact themed deck. This one was a pain to construct and I firmly believe this isn't even close to the best version, but I wanted feedback because I am stuck. I just wanted to put the Heliod combo in there and then work with counters and artifacts. I...

100% on board for Hoarder and Puzzleknot. I'm not sure about cutting the Map though. It has played out very well in the past for me, acting as a draw smoother that eventually becomes a ramp card or a card advantage engine. Plus the treasures work well with the Marionette Master. I like the...

100% with you on the die triggers. I was avoiding playing ubiquitous colorless cards (I added a Solemn Simulacrum edit before your post that applies to the other colorless cards) but perhaps that's just wrong. If so, then ditch Dire Fleet Hoarder for Perilous Myr and maybe Weaponcraft...

I really like artifacts, so I'll be trying to brew a few different ones around them. The tricky part is not flooding the deck with artifacts as that would be too powerful and less interesting when mixing decks. First up, mono black artifact control. Treasure Map and Phyrexian Scriptures...

I could see replacing Pyro with a Flamewake Phoenix. It could be recurred, but later in the game when you bring back one of the 2 drops from the grave or the Reckless Charge. However, that would mean keeping Key around as a discard outlet and mana sink or finding some other way to dump cards...

I'm really liking these as a way to keep people occupied should their match finish earlier or just for some quick kicks. Is this too narrow? I was thinking that maybe one of the 3 drop phoenix's would be a good fit. I also like Risk Factor, but that might not mesh well with other decks.

I've played with Cavalier of Dawn and I liked it. Most of the time it doesn't have a clear cut best use which is a plus in my books. It also has so many synergies, some of which are GY related. In white! Cycling some enchantments? Sacrificing artifacts or creatures? Going wide with tokens...

General Show me your discard and graveyard synergies

I generally play 3 player games which are a weird hybrid of duels and true multiplayer games. This means that fast decks (probably a better name than aggro) can win. However, those decks aren't using 1 mana 2/1's, but rather cards like Impact Tremors that hit the whole table or Goblin...

General Show me your discard and graveyard synergies

In a bid to widen the possibilities of GY decks in my cube (and get white in on the action), I went ahead and made a GY aggro theme. These are supported by more traditional aggro cards and therefore they should be playable in a regular aggro deck, but get enough of them and the theme really...

Card/Deck Topdeck Matters: The Heart of the Cards

I keep plugging this card everywhere, but it really is great: Bolas's Citadel It might not be in the right colors for this theme though. In the same vein: Experimental Frenzy

General How to execute a minimalist Artifact theme

Perilous Myr is great against aggro in my experience, not so much in aggro. The Spellbombs are good since they enable the artifact deck for “free” and are decent cantrips if dead. Nihil Spellbomb is good too, but I find it too punishing against GY decks. Black wants to sacrifice things, so it’s...

General How to execute a minimalist Artifact theme

Maybe I have unrealistic expectations towards Sai, but he always disappointed me. The amount of actual artifacts you need to trigger him a few times is quite high. High enough, that I don't feel that he fits into a minimalist theme. A full blown theme for sure, but even then, the "cast artifact"...

General Life Gain as a Thing

Where is Bolas's Citadel in this thread?! Life gain payoff, sacrifice enabler and random artifact. It's really fun too.

I’ve liked playing Verdurous Gearhulk alongside The Great Henge. They give you just enough Daretti/Welder targets to make a RG midrange/GY/counters a subtheme. Add Gilded Goose instead of an elf to help. The great thing is, they are all solid on their own. Tireless Tracker fits there too. The 2...

I actually think this is too slow. 3 mana for a 1/1 is rough. I would probably play Rhys the Redeemed before this guy as a token payoff that can also go into more decks. Sure, you lose the artifact synergies, but I think the hybrid mana makes up for it.

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

I am trying to cut on generic value Planeswalkers and I am looking to replace Tezzeret, Artifice Master I really like the guy, but the +1 protection gets old on walkers. I do miss the fact that he fit well in the artifact deck and was generally good elsewhere. I was thinking of the Mirari...

    Card/Deck Wx Cycling

I really enjoyed drafting Alfonzo Bonzo's 2.1 version of the Alchemist's Crucible. There is a heavy cycling theme there from which you can get inspiration https://www.cubetutor.com/viewcube/108492 From your list ravnic, I agree with inscho that Fox, Healer, and Cairn seem a bit off. I'd add...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Biogenic Ooze is really good. I play it in my multiplayer cube and there it is a must answer or it risks taking over the game. However, the speed at which it wins is reasonable and even if you make a token before they answer the game isn't over. Leave it unchecked for too long though, that's on...
