Hahahahaha. You jest, but now I'm tempted to run it like that :p

In my experience, you are never going to run Pod as a colorless card. You would kill yourself very quickly. You might splash it, though. I also think Pod is much more interesting than Collected Company. It's a real puzzle be it in draft, in deckbuilding or play. Collected Company is just value.

General LuckyPaper Kaldheim Community Survey Results - See what the community thinks of Kaldheim!

Some time ago, Cube Cobra was awful for testing because you could take as many lands as you wanted. The average player ignores lands and, hence, the bots did the same. Apparently the developers went hard and bumped the priority of lands artificially to try and solve this issue. However, it...

General Enchantments not ruining your day

Magic's "color pie" is extremely flawed in execution and should be taken with a grain of salt. Let me be radical for a bit. In a card game, all factions should be able to perform basic actions such as drawing cards and interacting with the opponent. They should just be able to do so in...

I agree. In fact, I would argue both power creep and printing GRBS are the inevitable result of Wizards's design philosophy. Why is Oko busted? Because Wizards: - Intentionally makes Planeswalkers stronger for marketing purporses - They didn't want Oko to die the turn it came to the table...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

At a glance, allowing your opponent to do it as well may prove to be a big drawback. A single ETB on your opponent's side of the table can become a serious problem.

Speeed is everything. Life gain is a minor bonus compared to being able clean the board a turn earlier. Rasmus is also right in that getting to five lands is not trivial, either. If you can wrath on curve, chances are you had less spells. If you have more spells, you have a slower wrath. So...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Bazaar Tragemage has overperformed for me. In fact, I've never felt I needed any discard synergies for it to be a beating. My cube has smaller creatures and a 3/4 Flyer is positively big. It's a huge blocker and it won't have any rivals on the sky. It has a very large board presence for its...

General Subthemes at High Power Levels

In my experience, the combo just takes what could be a fun, interactive game of Magic and turns it into "well, I drew the combo, GG". I'm tempted to run The Gritog Monster but it just seems way too strong for me.

I tried to make Pod Artifacts a thing, but it just hasn't. I run the cards, there's just not a real crossover between, say, Birthing Pod and Tezzeret.

Living Twister is worse than it looks in the "discard lands" part and much better than it looks in the "I'm a 2/5" camp. I like it.

    The Mox Cube

I'm tempted to just go and print proxies of your whole cube. I would never play it, I don't think I know anyone skilled enough to do so, but I love it.

Sigh is right. Karsten's analysis overstates the need for mana. You only want the BB when you can actually spend it, not always. You don't need to have BB on turn 2 if you don't have Aetherborn in hand. To use an example. Karsten says you need an umbrella even when it's not raining, while Sigh...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

I want to go print some proxies and get the ball rolling again. A bunch of friends have many cheap cards and chances are I could replace a good chunk of the cube with actual cards. But for that I first need to finish the whole thing. Some thoughts: Multicolor cards that could be replaced by...

I can't think of a more oppressive card you could run in your cube hahaha. Tempting isn't it? But I think Black Lotus would be weaker in your environment than Counterbalance would be.
