    The goggles/helmet itself would probably feel more green if it put like 4 +1/+1 counters on the creature or something. Or equal to CMC? But I don't like that card as much. I like that as is, it helps against counter spells and doom blades.

    First-Pickability != Bomb Status. Colorless Wurmcoil is a higher pick than Black Wurmcoil, but if you're playing Black, power level is the same (dependent on environment, fixing, amt of colorless ramp, I guess). Equal Bomb Status. If it cost BBBBBB, that would be different.

    How about: Pact of Planning 0 Instant Search your library for an instant or sorcery card, shuffle, put 1 from the top. During your next upkeep, pay 1U or you lose the game.

    Cheap delve cards are much safer, right? An effect that would cost 3 normally can't be as broken at 1 mana as an effect that should cost 5 or 6 normally.

    Mostly agreed, except that the color pie isn't a basic rules of the game, its a design goal/pattern/something like that. But I don't understand your definition of narrow. If Onder considers a card to be elegant that meets just 2 of those criteria, and you require all 5 to consider a card...
