    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Oh, and re: Throne of the God-Pharaoh: I run Ankh of Mishra in that slot. It's more of a burn spell that's as strong as your opponent's top end cards are expensive. I haven't tested Throne of the God-Pharaoh but it doesn't seem to solve any of the problems with aggro. If you're attacking...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Hi, my name is japahn (hi japahn) and I run Static Orb. Static Orb Static Orb doesn't see much play, I guess mostly because people are scared of it - hell, I'm scared of it. The few times I've seen in action were a mixed bag. Some were bad when games became painfully slow. Each deck needed...

    General Fight Club

Pack Rat will usually just die to removal. If not, it will win the game without the need to cast anything else. That's how it played in my cube, consistently, over two sessions. At the end of the second I removed it. It's the kind of thing that is funny when it happens once, meh when it happens...

    General Unstable Spoiler Unthread

This will be way better than Unglued and Unhinged were. I think it will be quite fun to draft, actually. Even the Host/Augment, which looks forced, will probably play way better than it reads.

You have Vampire and Zombie synergies there. Can you actually support both? If not I'd cut the least appealing cards the tribe to drop. Regardless, I'd cut Pack Rat because it's GRBS and Apprentice Necromancer because I would not play it even in reanimator.

Yosei is very strong. Usually it's "win the game with a 5/5 or win the game with a Time Stretch". I still run Yosei as a "rare" (lower chance of appearing), though. Agree with the rest being low powered. I've tested all of those except for Emeria Shepherd and cut them all for not being good...

Soul of Theros Linvala, the Preserver I run both, but can't really vouch for them - I'm still trying them out. It's actually really hard to find white fatties at my power band. On the topic of cube size, I run a large cube too and wahoopride's writeup lists the reasons very well. I do agree...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Metallic Mimic My cube is nowhere close to tribal, but this sounds like it's decent enough off a single activation, and with tokens it's sweet. I don't think I can get away with this card in my cube single it's singleton and it won't be worth drafting around a single copy, but someone here...

I like how Jace plays, but it's so damn inelegant. Too man numbers involved. Even enfranchised players can't usually tell what it does without looking at the back, and for casuals it's absurd.

Nice suggestion, will test a copy for sure. I've tried Jeskai Barricade and Masako the Humorless. Masako was really fun when the cube was even lower power, but nowadays it's just unplayable - it's only good when ahead AND racing. Jeskai Barricade was great in the blink deck, but the deck...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I haven't had a great experience with Darkblast either. Sometimes it just gets stuck in your hand, so much that the risk is not worth the card slot. Try it out though, it sounds like the card is super cube-dependent. I would not call Disfigure low power, the card is really strong and I'm fine...

Any CMC, I'm looking for multiple cards. I already run the Hecatoncheires, but thanks, it was a good lead.

I'm looking for white cards that will make blocking more frequent. I have too much evasion and thus not much actual combat happens, and I'm trying to change that.

Avalanche Riders It's different (land destruction), reasonable power level but not too high. Good with sacrifice matters and Wildfire. Does not fit every red deck.

    General Mana Sinks

It's not that the power level is problematic (it was in Future Sight, but not in cube). It's how (not) fun it is for everyone involved. If you're under pressure losing, the card is bad and you feel bad about it. If you're winning, the card make the win more likely and take much more time...

    General Fight Club

Two decks are majorly of the other color, but 7 or 8 cards are not a splash. I basically force drafted these archetypes now in Cube Tutor just to get a sample list from my updated pool. But you're right, I don't include many aggro 1-drops because they are boring and not very versatile. Some...

    General Fight Club

I love green aggro. I support aggro and control in all colors, since I don't support synergy archetypes in the main cube module it's the easiest way to make sure there are at least 20 different decks to draft (10 aggro two-color decks, 10 control two-color decks). Green aggro manifests as...

    Card/Deck The Rakdos Cult (BR)

I also police proactive cards mostly, but the reactive cards that are too much value are also concerning to me. Kolaghan's Command is a guaranteed 2-1 that can often be made a 3 for 1, at 3 mana instant-speed. At a low power level, this card feels dirty to play. I haven't made many cuts for this...

    Card/Deck The Rakdos Cult (BR)

As you know, I avoid too much rules text, and Rakdos is a guild that has good options that cut down on complexity: Rakdos Cackler Shambling Remains Blazing Specter Blightning Rakdos Cackler is a great card to have in cube, as he goes in any red or black aggressive deck. Shambling Remains...
