    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

I really like Dig Up, but cleave is such a weird way to do that mechanic. Square brackets look pretty garish in a MTG text box. The point about kicker is that it was a too-broad mechanic to begin with. It swallowed up all the flavor space that variations on it can be, just looming over as "why...

Yeah if you already have another counter, need something that isn't a counterspell, etc.

sinister sabotage is great as mentioned, and so is neutralize, but Thassa's Intervention is an interesting option if you want to lean more on the card draw mode.

Tweaking mana costs is the sort of "custom" that players rarely even notice. Especially on not-super-often-played cards like the ones with Awaken, they don't know/remember that Ruinous Path's awaken isn't supposed to cost 5 or whatever. The awaken counterspell is a pretty fun win con in a super...

yeah. There are technically other "draw first" effects in red, but they have "discard at random" to offset it (goblin lore etc.)

    Card/Deck Boros spells aggro

I'm finding green to be my preferred spell-deck third color of choice, especially without the spells-tokens archetype in my format.

Red also now has exile and you may play until end of turn/until your next turn. I think the original point that all colors already have fit to purpose draw and removal stands even if specifically flooting isn't considered. For a specifically one mana spell that better fits what WotC is doing...

    Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow

I like velrun's idea of reverse proliferate. It both removes things in a way that hasn't happened before and is an inversion of a prior faction mechanic. Also conveniently removes poison counters for inscho :)

Why do you need/want that? Blue is literally right there. UB decks. And there are multiple options for black draw spells at one mana if you insist that's the only way you want black draw to be. Village Rites, for instance, draws twice as many cards as any of the blue options you list, is an...

It would still be an IMO super boring black top end card even with decayed tokens, but would be a more tenable power level.

(it's actually rule 3.15) It's from the Magic Tournament Rules; a reference from the part about the "additional rules applying to sanctioned tournaments".
