    General Fight Club

I swear pretty much this exact convo was had a bit ago (regarding discard outlets like these). Does the deck need a discard outlet at CMC 1? Both of these require mana to activate, so it's not like they allow a 2 mana madness the next turn. Checking over scryfall, there really isn't anything...

Of those exact two, probably the mentor because it adds bodies to the field. (not really a fan of either)

It's alright. Not the most exciting inclusion in a gold slot, but if you have a counters theme, a UG tempo deck, or some combination of that (maybe with some "GY" sprinkled in) it seems fine enough.

Seething Song into Bloodthirsty Adversary sounds like a fun turn 3.

You could run it as your only card referencing day/night if you wanted the repeatable filtering effect, but I find the tracking really annoying. Would work fine though, follow up with an instant the next turn and you flip to night, then two spells T4 to flip to day, etc. etc. It can really crank...

To anyone looking to dive into the day/night mechanic, this is a pretty good mana-free card filtering outlet in that framework

atarka's command lightning helix claim the firstborn firestorm bedevil valakut awakening If we want to go above 3 mana the list balloons, since Finale of Promise can grab spells of any size, theoretically. A couple easy examples that come to mind are stoke the flames and wildfire

Jerren is word city, and doesn't really look that great. The fact that it's not optional means that an unfortunately timed wrath by the opponent could be instant death (that's true of some other creaures, like midnight reaper, but a card per death seems like a lot bigger upside than a 1/1). The...

Yeah promo tavern ruffian would straight up look better with reminder text, if they aren't going to commit to the centered text.

Yep, and besides that we've gotten both devoted grafkeeper and Dennick, pious apprentice as awesome options for a UW tempo deck. Unlike enbalm, the backsides have unique and powerful abilities (and flying for both examples above). I don't think we need another Honored Hydra (partially because...

Nice! I think I like this for my double strike aggro theme. It does grant haste, so that flashback can come in useful midgame to turn a drawn 1 drop into a sudden threat

Memory deluge my beloved I always chuckle at wording like this, because it's one type of spell thats anti-synergistic with cost reduction. Still love it.
