    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

A (quite large) restriction on targets. Missing literally every non-permanent, and a decent chunk of on-type targets in most cubes. For really fast cubes with an average mana curve below 3, the restriction gets a bit smaller, but I think we all have already agreed that's not the type of format...

Type: Instant This is a sweet card. I don't really have a slot that needs it right now, but I am also loving WotC just pulling out a list of cool spell effects and throwing them into the flashback-inator

Compulsive draws three of the average power level of your cards, Revival recurs the best possible card from the graveyard for that situation, so it's not like Compulsive is drawing three times the card value. Compulsive can just as easily draw three lands (close to zero value in some situations)...

    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

I think the general notion that all cards need a "tempo contribution" or "immediate impact" is a little overapplied. After all, almost 100% of card draw spells offer no "tempo", no matter if they are instant or sorcery (or enchantment or artifact). Compare the front half of Dryad's Revival to...

A more moon-friendly choice by our enterprising researcher. Apparently he thinks moths can literally fly to the moon??

Cute. Mana smoothing that turns into a real beefcake later as needed (with bonus super mana smoothing)

One common gap in self-mill decks is milling the recursion (outside of unburial rites etc. obviously). This handily seals that in such an elegant and awesome way. This along with the new turn the earth have really helped tighten up leaks in the Sultai self-mill style deck in one fell swoop. I'm...

    There is NO way I'm passing this up. This has been very high on my wishlist for years now. Yessss. Dryad's Revival {2}{G} Sorcery Return target card from your graveyard to your hand. Flashback {4}{G}

    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

I still run Dark-Dwellers, and I feel like this is a good opportunity to remember "if it's still working, it doesn't need replacing", so I'm passing on the Adversary for now. Oh for sure, card is very nice. And you can use it on an opponent's land on the off-chance they have something icky...

There is also the made-for-vampire-aggro option of It's a vampire-theme hellspark elemental that triggers magecraft and provides some life buffer to boot!

Harrow but sorcery speed and two colors and the lands come in tapped ;) There is a nonzero mental barrier to realizing that targeting yourself is often the right play. Still nice. Could see myself taking out radha, heart of keld for this, as it offers really nice flexibility as well as...

    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

I like Adeline, but the multiplayer wording is a tad annoying (not for @Nanonox though!). Great ceiling, and the floor is still a 2/4 vigilance with friend. It's like a flexible version of goblin dark-dwellers (with haste!). This cycle is definitely pushed.

We do have more phasing in the set... though on another mythic This is a pretty slow self-contained engine, but having a sacrifice effect tucked onto a land can be really nice, and the backside ends up being quite a beating (and can protect itself)

Nice little white "card advantage" piece, especially if you have GW landfall. For those with sharpies, this is a good candidate for removal of "basic". Ambicious Farmhand 1W Creature - Human Peasant When Ambicious Farmhand enters the battlefield, search your library for a basic...

Kinda like protection, its the fine print. The "and anything attached to it", and the timing of when stuff phases back. Stuff like that

Interesting. ETB investigate is always nice, and this is an neat take on a "token" theme. Stacked slot though.

Man they're just tossing phasing of all things as a one-off mechanic in the set. Unless there's going to be more phasing we haven't seen yet. No reminder text either, I had to pull out a Teferi's Protection to even remember how it works.
