    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

List the cards in your cube that combo with it and imagine them in a deck with Demonic Pact. It's fairly easy to do that by searching for (o:"enchantment" or o:"permanent"). If those cards make a deck, it might have a home. Oh, you need a low power level for the deck to be viable.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

That seems pretty interesting, I would test it. It does have the Howling Mine problem of being usable by your opponent earlier than by you. Negating the ability seems like a fun goal for Johnnies too, but I can't think of much besides Improvise and Ghirapur Aether Grid that would allow them to...

    General Modern Horizons

I'm not saying it will be price gouged! I think the "MSRP" is $10, based on the fact that Online it's $7. Distributors selling at $6 is not a cartel, it's a normal price point, based on the price (say, $5.50) Wizards sells to them for.

But it's still limited to the prices offered by distributors + some profit a store needs to take. If the distributor offers packs for $6, the store won't sell them for less than $6.

    General Modern Horizons

It's mostly a bad feeling about modern and paper magic. Sounds like they are cashing in by creating reprint equity with the combination of a high "MSRP" and broken cards that could not be in standard. With the information we have, it looks like a classic short term gain for long term loss. I...

    General Advice on Smoothing

On the subject of how to push for 2-colored, smooth decks, my strategy has been running lots of 1CC and 2CC cards, very few multicolor cards, and plenty of dual lands. More generally, I've found a more forgiving mulligan rule and a slow environment are a combination that greatly reduces non-games.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

On flat power level cubes, the difference between the 24th playable and whatever pick you spent on the conspiracy is not large, so the conspiracies are much better. When the power levels of individual cards are distributed along a wider range, the conspiracies become less powerful as you stated...

    General Fight Club

It's easy to confuse the two cards. I only have so many slots, having two cards that are SO much alike feels like a waste. Control decks don't even need that many finishers, and there are a bunch of creatures too. Part of my philosophy is "control should play creatures too".

    General Fight Club

Sorry for not writing anything, the context is that I have two white control finishers that are represented by Bolas' horns and there's really only space for one of those in my cube. It seems like we have a clear winner in Approach.

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

I too run Weaponcraft Enthusiast, which people run unenthusiastically but is actually a great enabler for many, many archetypes. I remember it being great with Cranial Plating. I don't think it's worth splashing, though.

    General "Looking for a card"-Thread

Varolz, the Scar-Striped was not strong at all for me. You need time, a lot of work, and a reasonable degree of building around for him to work. I often found myself scavenging a graveyard of Blood Artist, Vinelasher Kudzu and Graveblade Marauder. Talking about Marauder, he nonboes pretty bad...

General Getting Started - The Core of A Cube

Grillo's post was buried in a cube blog thread, so this is the first time I see it. Link to the complete post: https://riptidelab.com/forum/threads/doms-stream-of-consciousness.1338/#post-58544 I too found that one-drop aggro is poisonous and focus my one drops on cards that retain value over...

    Sets (RNA) Ravnica Allegiance Spoilers

Maybe. It's sort of complicated, so it would have to pull its weight, and it's a bit awkward in the tappers deck, because the drafter needs to start paying attention to instant/sorcery counts too. I also think the power level might be a bit high for my cube.

    Sets (RNA) Ravnica Allegiance Spoilers

Wow, I actually have a WU tappers theme with Gideon's Avenger, Sunblast Angel and Time of Ice. This may work well in it, though it seems narrow.

Not strictly worse, it is instant speed. Great fit for UG, mechanically. In terms of flavor, though, it is weird.

Generous Patron Rishkar, Peema Renegade Can't make up my mind about these. Context: I have 4 cards that put -1/-1 counters on opponent's creatures. Counters is a big theme in GB, bleeding into W. http://www.cubetutor.com/viewcube/4494 - filter by tag "counters".

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I'm not one for customs, but here's a card I wish existed: Token of Reluctant Alliance - 1 Artifact When Token of Reluctant Alliance enters the battlefield, choose two different creature types. Creatures you control of the first creature type get +1/+1 if you control a creature of the second...

    General ETB Combo Archetype

I doubt very much Junk Diver and LED would be too strong. You're running Skullclamp. And Hangarback Walker. While they may combo in conjunction with these other cards, by themselves they are probably unplayable. Therefore, probably bad includes, not for being too strong, but for being too...
