Do you have an artifact theme? Would you cube at least 3 or 4 cards making them? If both are yes I'd say go for it. Oh, and I would recommend similar "tests" for the other tokens.

And even then, there being a better version shouldn't keep you from cubing a card that you love. If there is one format where an (theoretically) outclassed card can still shine, it is cube. Just make sure your cube is the right one! I mean, dude, I am cubing Jungle Lion.

Blue in my cube is the main control color. It has a heavy spells theme that can be drafted mono blue easily. It plays it big role for madness, selfmill and blink decks. There are some ninjas and tempo elements too. Including that information, but also in general, which two of these do you like...

Morningstar has always been in my cube. Heirloom Blade has the practical downside of looking at creature types. I do run quite a few cards that haven't all their creature types written and due to constant type updates I don't want to bother with it. Human, Phyrexian, Dinosaur ... they always do...

I don't know, I think Sword of Vengeance won't be that different. Vigilance and first strike means once you get it going, it's almost impossible to beat it without a lotof removal (or artifact removal). I chose to retry an artifact creature that only was on the battlefield once or twice some...

That one inparticular seems a little too weak. I don't think turning one of your saprolings into a bear with trample and vigilance is worth a card.
