Usually Seasons Past is more like '2 or 4 or more extras', but the argument still stands. I think Ever After is very cool, and has a lot of payoff if set up right. It's called slow only cuz it reanimates a lot of turns after many reanimator spells do. I'd run it, but it competes pretty heavily...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I'm giving Treasure Hunt a spin. Mostly because I need to give my GR space to breathe, which is format specific for me. Still think it's a really neat card that people have fun using.

And for my environment Living Death's often an ultra bomb 5 for 1 or more, and miiiight have to go (probably not)... I have a hard time keeping it balanced. Weird that we all have such different experiences with it... o_O I do think it's really cool though, and people get into setting it up...

    General Fight Club

If we want to talk about probably-only-decent green enchantments, how about foster? Refardless, I think mysteries is more in the boat with these kind of enchantments than with Leap. Leap is a very proactive tool that can be used in response to things or simply to build hand quality off of, say...

    General Fight Club

I like Leap more in general. Mysteries is good in its own right, being perfectly fine SB material in standard, but on the base level it's 5 mana vs. 3 mana to get any value, and Leap digs straight to gas.

Seasons past is the fast kind of slow. You'll have literally a brand new(old) hand to make the next three turns really bomb

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

If UG in your environment is the "sudden burst of damage" kind of UG, Kaseto seems pretty neat. Not 100% sure, but I think because sacrifice is part of Emerges cost, the snake babies will get the buff. But they'll still need haste. I like Strangleroot Geist. I like Genesis a lot too, as a way...

    General Fight Club

I like Reclamation better most of the time. Tortured existence is a very cool card, but a little hard to overcome the cost for most cubes. If there turns out to be a solid, workable madness theme, Existence could be a good role player.

Onderzeeboot's Khans of Alara WUBGR Cube

To me it seems like as-fan matching has its limits, because I'd wager every set is different depending on the needs/wants of that format. For instance, in cube a lot of designers try to focus a little more than normal on non-creature stuff. This would make prowess a better fit for a bigger chunk...

General Elegance in cube card selection

All I'm trying to say is that the quest is a noble one, but Defender might not be the target to start with. As Aston mentions, WoO is strong. Beyond that it is really a great card design, and I'd hope would be a poster of child of what this thread is trying to achieve: clean design that performs...

General Elegance in cube card selection

I wouldn't remove defender, tbh. It's a super intuitive keyword (this creature can only defend, and the creature usually isn't any good at attacking anyway, so card and ability link). There are several keywords like this, I think fight being another one. Singular keyword usage is annoying, but...

Onderzeeboot's Khans of Alara WUBGR Cube

This was exactly why I am focusing some on Delirium in GB :). And for basically the same reasons too (but also RG in my format)! Directly in GB support can be found from black discard outlets, and green gravepulses, so I just think it's a beautifully designed and fun mechanic for that color pairing.

Onderzeeboot's Khans of Alara WUBGR Cube

Totally try out some more delirium! If the format can support incidental types like enchantments and stuff, it becomes much easier to have active. I experienced this in EMN sealed this past weekend. My first deck was more "typical", and I'm not sure I ever had Delirium, but my second deck had...

    [Design/Construction] Rebuilding my 360...

Five packs of 12, burn 3 cards works out to exactly 45 cards for the draft pools, and it uses 360 cards perfectly. I don't like Academy Ruins for the same reasons as Onder. I could definitely see promoting one of your BW's to good ol' Day of Judgment. One 4 mana wrath is respectable, and its...

I had that in my cube for awhile. Cool card! Interesting that you can play it mid game to get a wrecking ogre sized creature, and then buff it later.

Elegance is often compared to simplicity, but is really closer to 'effective whIle striving for simplicity'. Hanweir Garrison is what I consider elegant in comparison to, say, Goblin Rabblemaster
