    Dom's Stream of Consciousness

Hold up, hold up. Gryff's Boon is exactly what the prowess deck wants. All those protection spells only last one turn, Gryff's Boon is forever. Slap it on your Seeker of the Way, back it up with some countermagic that same turn, go off. The card is actually very good. We have data now, in...

    Dom's Stream of Consciousness

I'd be a major fan of Taking Turns being explored as a thing for cube. It's a relatively compact space, give not only blue a job, but most likely {U}{G}, depending on your recursion suite, and is spell-based (which is neat). I am very fond of oath of nissa and traverse the ulvenwald. Cards...

    General Fight Club

I like battledriver. Its a really dense packing of effects that might take 2-3 slots otherwise. Its fine in agro if you buy into the reach-agro archetypes over curve-out agro because it makes every later dude an immediate and larger threat (aka haste is good). Bonus points do go to tokens...

Sets WOTC - Shadows over Innistrad Cube All-Stars

Gorger is meh. Ulvenwald Hydra is a card that I think definitely should be on the list. Prime time is too much etb, too boring a body. Hydra presents a growing threat that rewards reaching the late game (of personal interest to me), and has a toned down spell effect.

    General Mana Base Brainstorm Thread

That's a beautiful point. I am supporting Goggles Combo, and that requires a lot of mana in the go-off turn... nice.

I think the hope is that each side is a unique walker so you could use each side once (cuz different names!)

    General Mana Base Brainstorm Thread

So what do we all think about this cycle: calciform pools? They help out the {C} costs, and are cool. Also affordable! Seems like they slow your format down a little, but meh. Not worth it? My main competitor would probably be Temples? They help prevent non games and can dig for colorless...

No, unfortunately. She's still the same object, so her first ability still counts. Same with flip Garruk.

Wolf Mom or Angry Goat for me. I think wolf mom has a ton of play to her, and is just nicely designed. Analogies to Huntmaster seem good.

    General The Draft Exchange

I would play the heck out of that esper deck. I'm usually "that blue player" during draft nights, and that certainly fits the bill! One thing I've perennially noticed about drafting my cube on CT is how the fixing always seems to be a problem student, but I don't see it act out. I hold by in my...

    Dom's Stream of Consciousness

Great post. Will read again thoroughly when I have more free time. As an aside, every time the word 'engine' is written on this forum, a small child finds a lucky penny. Also there's a happy Sigh. Can't wait to see how that archetype, and others, shape up in your format :D

General [Thought Excercise] What does this break?

Got a good laugh out of that, genericco.. :). Certainly in need of some today All things taken, I do think this is a fantastically deep card. Its a cool combo piece and conditional counterspell rolled into one. I could honestly see this being a blast in more than one format here

General [Thought Excercise] What does this break?

Lol @ cards that turn into weird pointless things, like "choose a color" etc. On actual combo level: rally the ancestorswake the dead I'm assuming casting restrictions don't count, because nothing about them is used during actual resolution. In any case, seems strong...

    General The Draft Exchange

Drafted Aoret's cube! 10/10 would draft again. Gotta sat its definitely a little non-intuitive to have access to fetches outside the draft and the like, but I got used to it. First picked Venter in a very difficult pack to pick from. Lots of pieces that go into decks, but I wasn't getting very...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Test it! it does take 2-3 turns of having/casting 2 spells a turn to start getting OP, but it is definitely strong. I am a little wary of things that make copies of themselves, though. Killing this permanently looks like it could be a tall order, especially on the T4 this + 1 CMC spell Test it!

    To loot or not ?

But you don't lose the looter. You still have twice the card quality they do. You don't dunk yourself in the trash over 1.5%, because of looter, but you do dunk them in the trash with CM, or get a lot closer. And it's still random! What if the N+1 card is the card you needed, but never looted...

    To loot or not ?

I've thought of that too. If serra angel is the most powerful spell in their deck(I mean, look at our deck), CM is only going to get worse. I still fail to see where the "fear of milling a spell" is coming from. Your deck is randomized and rather flat power level (except CM). On top deck mode...
