    General Custom Cards: The Lab

I just think you are packing too much into one unit, especially since the unit is a land. On the base, it's a waste++, and then it offers you bunches of options, some of which can grant you card advantage! The very first idea that popped into my head is having a {C} generating land with Land A...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Free card advantage? Count me in! This is still very powerful. Lands in your deck that enter untapped, search for other lands, and can be cycled to get 2 cards in your hand? Wow.

Not whydirt, but convoke is probably one of the most fair cost reduction mechanics there is. In order for Stoke to be free you need 4 untapped creatures you are willing to tap, two of which have to be red.

    General The Constructed thread

I think the only development problem was the creation of lands that allow T2 thought-knot seers. I think {C} mana is a really cool concept and decent execution, I just wished they had spent the whole block with it, rather than messing with a million one-set mechanics we'll probably never see again.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Definitely a "playgroup mileage may vary" card. Seems to be that way for all of the degenerate negative effects. Stuff like land destruction, locks, etc. Its really interesting because a lot of the dichotomy ends up being "Let people have fun playing the game without such swingy plays and non...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

RE: Forbid Word on the street is that locking people out of the game is mega lame. It does take some effort to get there, but is the potential for such a horrific nongame really worth it? In your environment especially, you can combo off with Life from the Loam, or pair it with powerful draw...

    Card/Deck Tokens Combo

We've had extensive discussion in other threads about {C} mana. It's a pretty hefty downside. Also it's 4 mana for Redeemer + upside, while Caller is only ever 3. I play Redeemer in standard, and it's a fine card, but the cost is very real even there. I had it in my cube for a while, support...

Or if you have extra mana. Or if you have any sort of "traveler", including curving from Vorapede into this. Or if you just have a nice hand for post-haups. Card is busted.

Vile redeemer is a lot harder to cast unless you explicitly support colorless. I do like it though.

Oh believe you me I'd think so too, but I have some reliable sources that are telling me it's more than meets the eye. Also your cube is miles higher in power than some, so I could see the reason for hesitation.

Feel obligated to point out that it seems your cube doesn't run Zendikar Resurgent, Tzenmoroth :p. And RGx ramp sounds like exactly the deck for ZR. And enchantments stick around after obliterate. Just sayin'. I might consider it if I didn't hate Armageddon-type effects. At least Wildfire and...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Wotc is obviously still ok using this sort of trinket text if they'll do it with devoid and changeling, and five colored dots is a lot cleaner than 6 words that don't fit on the type line. True about the ability tho. Should probably have an "activate once a turn" clause.

I think Utopia Channel would be a lot cleaner with the wording from this (switching color for basic land type): transguild courier Very cool concept though. A painland for any deck.

Card/Deck Balance: Reasonably Efficient Non-Etb Creatures?

genesis glory valor wonder filth anger brawn A cool way for cards to have a spell effect on a non-etb body. Are any of these worth it besides maybe Genesis? Anger seems cool, even if a sad little body for 4 mana. Glory too good? In the same vein, there are the creatures from JOU that did cool...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I like the card in EDH, at the very least. It's conveniently self-balancing in that the lower power the creature you choose, the lower power creature you get to keep. I suppose if you have 10 1/1's out it's pretty insane... but then again, so would be Dictate of Heliod or even Rally the Peasants...

Card/Deck Balance: Reasonably Efficient Non-Etb Creatures?

I bring up Yeva as its one of the ways to give (some of) your creatures flash. And people's response to it historically is perfect: I just think giving your stuff flash isn't powerful enough, enough of the time, to warrant it. The only flash-granter I'd run would be prophet of kruphix
