    Sets Spoilers Over Innistrad (Digest)

Went to a Sunday prerelease and went 3-1 with a GB deck. Probably should have gone 4-0, cuz I'm fairly certain I goofed some life math, but it's whatevs. This deck was a monster of a creature deck, again focused around a couple synergy plans for victory. One was building up a creature base...

    Sets Spoilers Over Innistrad (Digest)

Very solid card. Played solidly into part A of the plan. It was excellent at double blocking/killing one attacker while adding lethal damage to one or more other creatures. Traded up a LOT.

    Sets Spoilers Over Innistrad (Digest)

Made it up to the finals facing my former college roommate, walking away with some decent prize support. This was a terrible pool with Grade A++ bombs. But even with all that, it wasn't the bombs that won the matches. This crazy poile of a deck ended up having a really interesting synergy plan...

I believe whydirt is talking about our friend Odric. You should see it later on in the transformations (if I recall) ;)

Onderzeeboot's Khans of Alara WUBGR Cube

That does make a lot of sense! I think they missed an opportunity to extend the "seal of __" set in SOI, much like this is effectively a Seal of Deadweight. Adding more play to cards is always fun, imo. Same reason I've been eying Soul Snare over, say, Stasis Snare. Play it early, start a...

    MDT Unpowered Cube (450)

Tossed around a draft. Ended up in a mean-looking GR ramp deck. I suspected that it'd be a powerful (looking, at least) deck, and I don't think I was disappointed. www.cubetutor.com/cubedeck/507773[/url]"] Ones 1 Arbor Elf 1 Burst Lightning 1 Honored Hierarch 1 Scute Mob Twos 1 Burning-Tree...

    MDT Unpowered Cube (450)

I'm liking the changes you are making. Lol @ city of ass. I won one of those once in some casual EDH thing. Interesting note about sealed in cube: When you play sealed using MtG boosters, you actually only get 13 cards per pack (-1 for token card, -1 for basic land card). That ends up being...

Onderzeeboot's Khans of Alara WUBGR Cube

I've been killing some free time poking around through different cubes on here, and noticed something interesting: Sign of the Serpent. It seems like this card could easily be dead weight Is there some sort of mechanical reason for this custom? You want to guarantee you can get the enchant to...

    MDT Unpowered Cube (450)

Again, welcome aboard! I'm liking a lot of the recent switches your CubeTutor is showing :). It's looking like a very solid draft right now, and it was certainly fun to draft! I'm happy to see the checklands and painlands replacing the common lands. Your archetypes look good, but here's some...

    General The Draft Exchange

Welcome aboard MDT12! I also drafted your cube per the Colonel deferring. Sweet drafting time! Had some killer late pulls that helped my vision come together. Here's my draft report of how I ended up where I did through the process: I'm with the Colonel on the wide power band. The most obvious...

    Sets Spoilers Over Innistrad (Digest)

guess I'm thinking the Mask beats out the Key a little. Maybe. We haven't seen skulk in action yet, and if that's a valuable evasion ability I could see the key being worthwhile. Drawing two rather than one is just so powerful though...

    Sets Spoilers Over Innistrad (Digest)

No, you are spot on, I think. They probably got a little overcautious with Madness, and that makes for cards that don't really stand out enough to carve out a whole support structure from RB/u

    Sets Spoilers Over Innistrad (Digest)

I think one of the problems with SOI for us environment designers is Madness, which tales out a decent chunk of the set for consoderation. Madness is an A/B mechanic, meaning you need explicit madness enabling along with actual madness cards. It was the same way with OGW and colorless, but at...

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

... sounds like the perfect topic for a contest! Where we can put all of our bright minds to the test figuring out exactly how useable the mechanic is, right? Its only been used on five cards, so I'd bet there's still design space left for us to investigate. Even if the result of the...

Eager to see what you find! My formats a little slower, and I support blink too. Right now kind of a toss up between it and Morphling, and maybe some feedbacks will help :)

    General Blue creatures

You know, that's a great point. Just because it's not as brutal as when damage stacked doesn't mean it's not a good card. It still protects itself, has evasion, and can close the game relatively quickly. Also has that nostalgia value!

    General The Draft Exchange

yeah, my fixing is basically what you said: 15 fetches 15 fetchables 10 painlands 5 manlands 6 miscellaneous fixers (evolving wilds etc) That's 51 total, but the power level is a bit uneven. Painlands are in for {c}. I find myself restricted by the antiquity that is singleton, also. 12.5%...

(don't mind me pepole looking to draft, just asking a question. Aston's still up for drafting) Love seeing the GBx graveyard stufff coming together :D. Is the fixing just not coming up like there's not enough? I've been looking into whether or not the fixing is lacking for awhile... Also, I...

    General The Draft Exchange

Had a lot of fun drafting Meltyman's Reject Rare cube! I feel like I'd definitely need a couple more run-throughs to get the hang of the environment and to have more of a chance to read the cards :p. The drafting process was a ton of fun, right from start to finish, and I think I ended up in an...
