I don't need to, but I don't need any reminder text on anything, technically :P I add it in whenever I can because for a lot of people, my cube is the only magic they play. I do this for the same reason I don't use textless copies of cards

I like monstrosity a lot. Magic gains a lot from having these sort of "Once per game" effects, and there's a lot that wasn't used in Theros with this mechanic because it was specifically about vertical growth. For a while I've had this card which has been surprisingly tame for blue savannah...

Is 8t kinda like hearthstone then? I find in b hearthstone that there's a lot of otherwise aggro decks with really high curves because of that Garenteed mana, and while you don't get late game land flood, you do end up getting 6 and 7 flooded, which tends to be a bit of a wash in my opinion

For the uninitiated, how does WoW's mana system work? Because from my experience you started with a full mana pool, and spent different amounts on your spells, regaining mana based on how much spirit (or MP5 earlier) you had on your gear :P Probably doesn't really work that way in the TCG though

I prefer stamina. An already pretty niche card like both of these isn't being done any favors by further restricting it's targets, even if the odds are the average creature won't have a counter on it already

Keeping it limited also helps it not just be an easy wheel for the more intense among your playgroup, AKA the "Why nobody will ever play mental magic against me anymore"

Threshold is also "Until end of turn" :P I remember putting this guy together and after exporting it, realizing he had no power or toughness. I guess I fixed that, and thought that was the only thing wrong :P

What do you notice that's wrong about this card? Man I gotta stop patching my cube in WUBRG order, the green cards always have such terrible editing :P

Yeah impulse is a bit wordy, and it feels weird to look at more cards with the first mode. Swap impulse for Preordain That actually fits pretty well in terms of sheer text edit:

So a few of these have been spoiled early, and this guy looks pretty interesting. That's not a horrible body for the cmc, and there's nice things you can do rebounding stuff. Plus it encourages attacking! Also a few terrible things: The cat dragon token is just as adorable as you think it...

It may be that compulsion is good in an environment where one of your cards is 30 times as good as the others
