*SPOILERS* Star Wars: The Force Awaken

OK, so. I saw this last night, and...I'm not exactly sure how I feel. I really hate to be a downer on something like this, but there were some aspects that disappointed me. Overall, I did enjoy it! The Good: They really nailed the atmosphere. The props, the setting, the scenery--all...

General When Is Fixing Too Good?

The article makes some fair points, but it seems kinda strawman-ish to say the above reasons and not even once mention how Wasteland affects tempo, which I would argue is really the primary reason people run the card.

I recorded a few drafts for DraftMagic.com early on and we used Camtasia. It was pretty easy to use and had a lot of features.

Flesh Carver is like the dad that keeps showing you how to do stuff but won't actually let you try it yourself.

General When Is Fixing Too Good?

I'd still run it. I think this might be a good illustration of how our philosophies differ slightly. I really don't think anyone is right or wrong, in this case. Consider this: for two years I had to fight through Stax decks that could literally prevent you from playing magic cards. Turn 1...

So how do people feel about Flesh Carver at this point? Lame?

General When Is Fixing Too Good?

Anyway, I'm interested in adding another cycle of fixing. For my 450 cube I currently run 2x fetches, 2x shocks, 1x duals. Which cycle should be added next? My gut tells me the one that is most aggro-friendly. I haven't crossed into custom-card territory yet, so a full cycle of fast-lands is...

Yeah, I have too much nostalgia to ever cut Llanowar. If I had to choose I'd go with that, then Arbor second. Joraga seems technically strongest but is sort of inelegant as a card. In fact, I think it's time for me to bench Joraga for something more interesting.

General When Is Fixing Too Good?

To add to the sequencing of Wasteland discussion: it's often not strategically appropriate to use Wasteland to destroy your opponent's first land. You want to use it when you can continue to play threats while your opponent can't play spells as effectively. If you're playing aggro and only have...

Wasteland is stronger for sure. I'm just pointing out that it definitely isn't free. Stone Rain is actually pretty similar to Tec Edge in power level, I think.

This Edit: to be clear I'm not saying Stone Rain is as good as Wasteland.

General When Is Fixing Too Good?

I've found it to be difficult to include enough options for aggro to have the consistency that it needs from the cube without making the draft stale and awkward. Not impossible, but difficult. I double-squad a few aggro cards exactly for this purpose. I completely agree that the primary way...

General When Is Fixing Too Good?

Tec Edge is more directly appropriate for keeping players from being too greedy, but as people have said, punishing greedy mana bases and offing the occasional utility land isn't usually a good enough reason for most people to bother running it. In my experience, it's rare for a single...

How does Dead Weight compare to Paralyze? Dead Weight is easier to recur since it's more likely to end up in the grave, but Paralyze can take down mid-range sized beasts.

So I've been running the Alpha Orcish Oriflamme ({1}{R} mana cost misprint), which has been well-received, and now I've stumbled upon this:

Since Darkblast was getting a lot of positive reviews, I wonder what people think of this card. death spark Doesn't support self-mill, but it can trigger prowess and doesn't cost you a card to bring it back (though it's clearly more circumstantial). Is it just bad?
