    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

this is actually a potential worry of the card. with all the burn i run (and i HATE burn that can’t go face), i’m dangerously close to inadvertently supporting “Lava Spike Combo,” not really a deck i want people to be running. this shock is good, and i might even swap out Galvanic Blast for it...

    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

you could always just replace some expensive spells with these instead and have more opts and more shocks :gp:

    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

good removal =/= a super powerful standard, but uh, i’m sure not playing just any 5-mana bomb into a 2 mana unconditional kill spell in standard

    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

yeah i’m a happy cuber right now. anyone gonna try to make Miss Thirteen work?

    Sets (MID) Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

ok holy heck this set is already bananerz! the shock and doom blade are instant includes that will probably stay basically forever in my cube

    General Removal density

yeah if you draft the whole cube then everyone is going to get exactly the ratios of fixing/threats/removal/etc that are actually in the cube, regardless of how that gets distributed among players or maindecked. which i THINK is what train was saying too?

    General Removal density

huh, i am at 48 removals / (224 total cards -60 lands) = 29.27% removal, seems pretty OK

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

in Food it would sacrifice the cats and Woe Strider goats to create cat/oven loops or trigger Korvold. in pyromancer it would sacrifice Pyromancer tokens, Stitchers Suppliers, and Kroxas to blow up the enemy board and keep cards flowing. i think if your cube is making a significant number of...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Priest of Forgotten Gods This card saw a fair bit of play in Jund Food and Rakdos Pyromancer decks in Historic, does it need to “go deep” or can it fit nicely into any cube that goes wide?

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

it’s REALLY slow, but fun. removing the player using it is indeed the best remedy. or Cling to Dust

    General Spell Velocity Themes

probably? i take the term “spell velocity deck” to mean “a deck that casts lots of spells per game” and in my mind a low curve with lots of cantrips/smoothing is a way to make that happen. i think what will generally happen with a high curve spell velocity deck is you start out with actually...

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

i think those cuts are all quite good, and CoCo is definitely something to consider breaking singleton on. agree with your take that rancor and bonesplitter are pretty similar cards- if you only need one, keep splitter IMO. Mutagenic Growth is a very narrow card as well but can do good work in...

    Attack on Cube (2021 Update)

it’s a possibility. i have them as stand ins for “real” swords, but i don’t see them in maindecks much.

    General Spell Velocity Themes

i wanted to contribute more to this thread so uh, here’s some of the ways i personally increase overall spell velocity and reward players for doing so, but i don’t have a lot of words about it… it all just kinda goes together nicely to produce a high velocity environment, hope it makes sense

    Attack on Cube (2021 Update)

retrofitter foundry is a good one, i bet i could find room for that. maybe cut a 4/5 color card or a chromatic star

Erik's "The cool side of Magic" cube

i also don’t run rancor because while it seems uncuttable, in practice it can be pretty awkward outside aggro, which if you don’t support green aggro, can make it a false signal.

    General Fight Club

    easy grapple and command

    Attack on Cube (2021 Update)

cards arrived today and i have many changes to consider… this is where the occasionals packages concept is going to really come into play for me as there are starting to be a lot of moving parts in cuts and adds. the easy “bad cards out good cards in” level of changes is long gone, and now i...
