If you want to retain 'aggro' in some form, I suggest looking at aggro-combo decks. They're a lot more fulfilling to draft/play, at least IMO, and they're no less insular than normal aggro decks. Isamaru might 'seem' like a versatile card, but it really isn't.

Is aggro more fun than stuff you can do when you're not packing a third of the slots (at a conservative estimate) with cards that only truly belong in aggro?

Aggro doesn't seem like something you can dial back only partially to me, unless it's heavily overpowered or takes up a very large number of slots in your Cube. If you don't commit to it then nobody will want to draft it, and then Firedrinker Satyr and friends will be slumming it together in...

I'm completely behind cutting aggro. For as much as we talk about certain archetypes being 'poisonous', aggro is more guilty of that than anything else. You can replace a lot of the unexciting aggro creatures with a handful of narrow cards that enable interesting decks as well as cheap cards...

For blue, Clones + undying guys was a neat interaction in Standard (Butcher Ghoul, Geralf's Messenger etc). They also go really well with Blood Artist/Diregraf Captain and stuff like Sedraxis Alchemist/Gray Merchant.

Nah, it takes you like five seconds to even realize the Leech is there, but maybe that's the idea.

A lot of the artifact stuff is really janky. Arsenal Thresher and Sludge Strider are bad most of the time and the BCS isn't even that good for either of them. I like Filigree Angel over Sphinx Sovereign. Vedalken Engineer? Esper Stormblade is a really nice crossover between artifacts +...

Grenzo is delightful. It closes out the game in an unpredictable (and unriggable) way and is just good fun overall.
