    General Beginner Mistakes

Look, it’s clear that we don't see eye to eye on this issue. Condescending language is not necessary. I've been very clear that I have no interest in recreating a constructed feeling in my format, and if that’s a "baby idea" (whatever that means), I am perfectly happy with baby ideas, and I...

    Bauble Cube

Ok, this might seem a bit counter intuitive, but bear with me. One of the aspects of triple innistrad was that there was very little direct card draw. That was because, in that format, you were supposed to be exploiting the graveyard as a source of card advantage, and self-mill as a means to...

    Bauble Cube

lol...I completly forgot how bad intimidate would be here. Masticores have actually been a lot worse here than I thought they would be. I'm not sure if thats something with the meta that is going to shift with time, but I really thought they were going to just come down and dominate, and that...

    Bauble Cube

Maybe errata lithatog? ---------- I was trying to get an idea of what your format speed would be; and that is, of course, impossible to do by eyeballing a list. However, these were the things that caught my attention that may become issues. 1) There are lots of 2/1, 1/1, and 2/2 creatures...

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

You know, thats a really good point. If your format has a glut of 3 drops, not only is a 3 drop heavy deck vulnerable in the early game, but it loses tons of tempo due to inefficent mana use. It sounds like it would speed a format up, but in a bad way.

    Bauble Cube

As someone whose taste in cube design has a lot of overlap with this list, I really like what you have going on here. I will give it a more detailed look later, but at a glance, the first thing that strikes me about the list is that appears to be a powerful tempo format. Mechanics like...

That sounds like a creative environment that can support a value aggro plan with a lot of play to it.

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Beh, it’s not an argument I’m necessarily willing to plant my own flag on, at least not without more data on my end. Nor am I ready to go too deeply into its impact or necessarily saying we should be artificially expanding our 3 drop sections. It's a recurring point from Ars Arcanum format...

The reason they listed thoughtseize is that it can be a 1 mana answer to any specific problem. Thoughtseize is, yes, a very dynamic card; but as it regards the article's subject matter, that aspect was what they were referencing.

    General Beginner Mistakes

Well that was a really gratifying article to read. On topic, I think trying to just patch in archetypes rather than thinking of the cube environment as a whole was a pretty big mistake I made.

[Design/Construction] Lets build the Scuttlemutt Cube!

Laz, do you have any decklists to share? I love this cube, but its hard to see how everything fits together in practice by just looking at the list.

Proliferate is one of those mechanics I hope they bring back. Right now I have grim affliction and volt charge, but it would feel great to have a greater density of those effects.

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Yeah, that was a little abnormal. I kept on getting cut on stuff in the draft so the curve ended up bulging at 3. I am really skewed on 3 drops in my blue section. However, supposedly having more threes than twos is supposed to speed up a format, so maybe thats ok?

This was a sweet little control brew and my first foray into the world of burning vengeance control. The deck had the ability to go infinite with runic rep + memory's journey, wipe the board with mystical tutor->terminus, and keep the yard flush with Resto + Armored skaab. Memory's journey and...
