Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow Testing/Includes Thread

The term 'blinking' started to be used instead of 'flickering' after Momentary Blink got popular. I haven't heard anyone refer to exiling and returning a permanent to the battlefield as 'flickering' for a looooong time, while people still call it 'blinking' all the time. I've never heard people...

Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow Testing/Includes Thread

Took some time, but I've done the exercise as well! ONE HIT WONDERS Overgrown Arch Defender; Part of the learn package. Kind of annoying that this doesn't spell out on the card what defender does. The card is a good fit though, so I'm reluctant to cut it. There's space on the card to sharpie...

    General Secret Lair Spoilers

I really, really like the art on these basic lands. Very pretty! The Forest, especially, is a thing of beauty. Obviously they're foil and in limited supply, so boo anyway ;)

I am flipping my opinion on Dying to Serve. I absolutely want to include it in my cube!

It's something I'm mindful of, but what can you do when they print the perfect ninja enabler with a mechanic that doesn't have any other cards I really want to play?

Sets (VOW) Crimson Vow Testing/Includes Thread

Agree with Velrun, but I think there's a cleaner template available. Sphinx of Lost Truths Using this Sphinx as an example, we could write it as "Draw three cards. Then if Inspired Idea wasn't kicked, your maximum hand size is reduced by three for the rest of the game."

    General Fight Club

Keiga, the Tide Star Sharding Sphinx These are two that I have run (and still run in case of the Sphinx). I like both of them, Keiga being more generic but more annoying to remove, and the Sphinx giving more direction and being able to snowball if you have, say, some thopters on the board...

After testing it in a Wildfire deck, I've grown immeasurably more excited about Hiveheart Shaman! <3

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Sorry, then it didn't happen. Looking for good art that fits specific card ideas is often super time consuming, and these aren't designs I am ever going to be able to use myself given the parameters of my cube.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Sphinx Summoning; {4}{w/u}{w/u}; 4/4 flying vigilance Vampire Summoning; {3}{b/r}{b/r}; 3/1 trample lifelink haste Avatar Summoning; {2}{g/w}{g/w}; */* power and toughness equal to the number of creatures you control

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

Still working on these! Dueling Practice is just Reckless Rage, but more expensive because lessons need to be suboptimal (since they're free riders on the learn cards). This effect is potentially desirable for the {r/w} heroic deck in my cube as well.

General Poll: How many lands in your 360?

I nearly forgot Heritage is a 360 cube! (Even though Cube Cobra says it's 400, the 40 mods are drafted seperately from the 360 main cube.) It runs exactly 40 lands (all of them fixing), which is actually over 3% less than my main 450 cube, which has to compensate for variance and has a heavier...

Kaldra Compleat Did anyone try this one? Is this fun / beatable / fair / playable?

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Tested it and cut it. Not for being too strong. Quite a fun card, but cycling it 4 times for the special trick doesn't happen very often. It was actually best just as an 8/8 trample, haste for 7 mana, so I cut it for being too generic. I like the 5/5 trample, haste uncommon better in that role.

    General CBS

I think good examples are give in this article, though the term is older. Basically tight play is when your technical game is on point, i.e. you don't make suboptimal plays. For example, saving your counterspell for the real threat, instead of the first feasible target that presents itself, or...
