    General Local Cube Championship Coverage

That's.. that's fucking awesome. I didn't realize Myles was that hardcore. Look at that setup! The production on this intro video is also pretty professional.

    Card/Deck Vanilla creatures

There are cards like Boggart Ram-Gang and Boros Reckoner that you still probably want to keep in your respective mono-colour sections, and then your Kitchen Finks and Murderous Redcaps that are super versatile and go into almost every deck. If you have an eight-man, I'd wager that only one...

    Card/Deck Vanilla creatures

If card classification really matters that much, just lump hybrids with artifacts. Seriously. Kitchen Finks is almost as easy to cast as Bottle Gnomes, and easier to cast than Trained Armodon.

    Card/Deck Vanilla creatures

Is Reverent Hunter interesting? I guess I wouldn't be thrilled if Centaur Courser represented the average case, even if on occasion he blew up to be huge. Would people cube a {2}{G} vanilla 4/4? Perhaps a 4/5?

    Card/Deck Vanilla creatures

How big would a 2C vanilla creature have to be before you'd cube it?

    Card/Deck Bazaar of Baghdad

What are people's favourite discard outlets? Presumably Faithless Looting?

    Zero Variance

Yeah, everything I've read about or from Stephen Menendian would seem to reinforce that opinion. It's kinda too bad that he's the poster boy for Vintage, though maybe that will change with the format being played on MTGO now.

If you don't mind that I just pop in for thirty minutes to draft, and then leave without playing, I'm game, too!

    3v3 Team Sealed: Bravo

A sample of our deckbuilding ("deckbuilding") Skype conversation. [2014-07-04, 6:39:48 PM] Eric Chan: OH MAN [2014-07-04, 6:39:54 PM] Eric Chan: can we swap cards in between games? is that how team sealed works [2014-07-04, 6:40:05 PM] snorful: nah, separate sb [2014-07-04, 6:40:08 PM] Eric...

I haven't even looked at the card pool. I just assume it'll be mind-boggling, and that you two guys can figure it out.

    Sets [M15] Magic 2015 Spoilers

I did find Baleful Strix annoying, but {U}{B} value-based control needed a boost. So I put 'er back in. For people who run Ophiomancer, is that annoying / oppressive? I adore the flavour on Hornet's Nest, but don't much care for purely defensive walls in cube, so I'll probably pass. If I...

General Print this Wizards! (So I can put it in my cube)

Yeah, I've been pounding the drum for a while that the cascade mechanic is pretty overrated in cube. It's still fun to roll the dice, but when you can't stack your dice like you can in constructed, it's less likely that you'll flip into a card that's relevant to your game state. I already cut...

    General CBS

The fact that Power Play is (or would be, if people ran it) out and out bonkers in all of our cubes also makes me a little skeptical of this type of supposed aggregate data. I don't have any fancy charts or tables to back up my claims, but I will say that you should probably take that Power Play...

    OFFICIAL HEARTHSTONE THREAD

Yeah, absolutely. While Hearthstone might not be for the super-invested Magic players like us, I think it's a perfect gateway drug for people who have never touched a CCG in their lives. Nearly everyone at my workplace either actively plays it, or has dabbled with it. The best part is that...

    OFFICIAL HEARTHSTONE THREAD

I got bored after about fifteen or twenty games with it. I can't pinpoint exactly why, other than that all of the good neutral creatures show up in pretty much every deck, which reduces variety. It runs really well on iPad, though. Well-made and well-polished, through and through.

    Notes from the Road: Switzerland

If you're coming to Toronto, I'll totally set something up. Chris, Lucas, you guys down? No more of your excuses / disappearing acts - this man is hitchhiking from Halifax to visit us.

Stokemaw is totally sweet! I like its design a lot more than Flametongue Kavu. (And not just because it resembles Volcanic Hammer...)
