Is mindslaver really that powerful of an effect in cube? For an ultimate on a 6-drop it seems awfully paltry.

I wonder where Figure of Destiny ranks in power level among the cube's one-drops. As my cube has increased in speed the card has gotten worse and worse.

Double up on one-drops?

I realize I'm just hopping around threads poo-pooing things today, but I would not want to play black control if this was my finishing option. 6 mana for Shock Helix and then they ignore your PW and just attack you to death? Worst case scenario thinking, maybe, but this feels way underpowered.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but playing a one-drop that needs help to become Isamaru feels like bad times. It's something I've never tried though, and I don't think I'm going to get an educated opinion here by doing anything short of flying to Toronto.

He was bad even in the earliest iterations of my cube. I think Magic has passed him by in a big way.
