In another game from the above match, the opponent was about to mill out, then on his second-to-last turn popped a Hellion Crucible and copied it with Phantasmal Image to swing in for lethal.
It's not unreasonable, but I wonder if the set isn't better served by Guildgates and Bouncelands and the like. I'd also like 10-card cycles if possible.
Right now I have:
10x Guildgate
10x Bounceland
5x Vivid
5x Panorama
Terramorphic Expanse
Evolving Wilds
Transguild Promenade
Rupture Spire...
I don't really find Pauper to be interesting. I'm not rarity restricting, but price is certainly a concern. The audience for such a thing is somebody who has never owned a cube before. Maybe it's a gift to a 15-year old or a broke college student. $100 for all the drafting you can get. So things...
Each of you has 60 minutes to design a cube around the following mystery ingredients (the first four random cards that came up on Gatherer):
You will be judge by a panel of assholes, who will nitpick at your inability to prepare a twinkie kale reduction over a braised goose liver confit.
Yeah, I mean, as much fun as it would be to see Brian Kibler and his posse, if a no-name wins a spot and brings his pals along, that would be rather unappealing from a spectator perspective.
For those of you not down on boosting Sire of Insanity that like to do custom cards (Chris, Lucas), is there a redesign of that type of card that would be both more powerful and more fun?
I am looking for fun cards for a draft environment, for under, say, 50 cents each. I want to build a stock "starter cube" list that can be built for ~$100.
