Card/Deck [MCD] Cards that create Subgames!

On that note most of the Ascensions (Bloodchief Ascension et. al.) create some sort of minigame too.

Yeah, I was watching GP Miami and thinking that creatures have super outclassed removal these day. So many cards just laugh at 1-for-1 spot removal (Thragtusk, Voice of Resurgence, Doomed Traveler, Strangleroot Geist). If your plan is to play removal, you either need mass removal and card draw...

Somebody with more imagination than me: Is this a cube card? Massive Crystal.

Card/Deck [MCD] Cards that create Subgames!

Protection and shroud straddle the line. Sometimes they are really interesting and make you dance around, but can still be beaten. Other forms of protection are just like "oh, I guess the game is over now". I am more okay with them in constructed metagames because you can plan around them, or...

    General Fun Budget Cube Cards

Unfortunately a lot of the pauper and peasant cards are kind of expensive (at least for this exercise). There are a lot of bulk rares that are high powered but just not T1 (like the above Sphinx of Uthuun).

I have a feeling that by the end of Magic's history Kitchen Finks will be in hundreds of infinite combos.

It looks kind of bad to me. How many hoops do you have to go through before it's better than Night's Whisper or Sign in Blood? But I could be super wrong too.

General Ways to run an online cube draft

Yeah, the logistics of 8-person drafting are infinitely harder than four-person drafting (unless we had an infinitely large community and could fire them off whenever).

General Ways to run an online cube draft

I wonder what proportion of players get to play real constructed Magic, instead of the "what's the best deck I can play given my collection and budget, and how much am I willing to spend to improve the win rate of my deck and how much are those cards going to depreciate in value given the...

General Ways to run an online cube draft

Well mostly I'm just interested in testing a particular list that I am building, which we could probably throw together without expending much resources. But I always imagined that distributing the cards to people for deckbuilding it really tedious. Going the cockatrice route is probably easiest.

Card/Deck [MCD] Cards that create Subgames!

I 3-0'd a draft last month with P1P2 Cabal Therapy, so I think your definition of cubeable may be a bit off. Once you start combining it with other things that reveal cards, guys that like to die and threaten effects it becomes quite the card. I probably wouldn't shove it into a stock list, but...

General Ways to run an online cube draft

I am utterly lost as to how to create a username on drafts.in. I know you don't need one, but I just don't see it on the interface, even though there's a chat thing at the bottom.

Gravecrawler creates a very interesting "zombie management" subgame. Sometimes you have to hold your kill spells until you can completely wipe the board of zombies.

General Print this Wizards! (So I can put it in my cube)

I ran Gaddock Teeg for a long time but I never saw him in action all that much. I liked the card in theory, but people seemed unwilling to play it. They're much happier to cast Voice of Resurgence.
