That thing was super annoying to play against in the RTR and GTC prereleases. That first ability is real.

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Posts like this are much more likely to convince me than Chris's Path to Exile rant (no offense Chris).

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

That's why I split out M10 and Zendikar block, I think everything before that can be considered old by today's standard. There's something to be said for Lorwyn as well though, it is after all the set that introduced planeswalkers. Anyway, as you can see in my original post, 61% of the creatures...

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

Except they are. How many noncreature, nonremoval spells that are bad topdecks and niche in their application do you want to run in your draft decks? I'm guessing not many. What kind of bullshit reasoning is this? You want to run an all-Path to Exile cube? All I'm asking is, is Hardened Scales...

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

What happens when you go Gore-House Chainwalker > Volt Charge > Shaman of the Great Hunt > draw Hardened Scales? Wouldn't that card just be better for your deck if it was, say, an Incinerate?

    Blacksmithy's Cube

I'll humor you with a few more drafts :) Sol Ring remains the most insane thing in your cube I think. It's probably better than the original moxen, and that says a lot. www.cubetutor.com/cubedeck/332140"] Zeroes 1 Iterative Analysis Ones 1 Land Tax 1 Sol Ring 1 Swords to Plowshares 1...

I can vouch for Clan Defiance. It's useful in the mid game, but downright ridiculous in the late game.

    Blacksmithy's Cube

CubeTutor still doesn't respect the Recurring Nightmare!!! I have to admit though, this Golgari deck looks pretty sweeeeeeeeeet! www.cubetutor.com/cubedeck/331796"] Ones 1 Elvish Mystic 1 Joraga Treespeaker 1 Warden of the First Tree Twos 1 Lotleth Troll 1 Reassembling Skeleton 1 Satyr...

    Blacksmithy's Cube

If you have a sacrifice theme going I would opt for Falkenrath Aristocrat. It's also a faster clock, and I think appropriately powerful for your cube. Unburial Rites is awesome value, but Sculler is also really good. I'ld pull Mortify to be honest, which is just generic removal at the end of the...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I suppose there's even less modern cards in powered cubes, because the average 360 doesn't even include moxen, black lotus, etc.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

This piqued my interest! Last 5 years is M11 and Scars of Mirrodin and up. I took a look at the 360 avarage cube over on cubetutor... Surprising results! "Only" 115 cards of the last five years (32%, which is still much, considering this game is over 20 years old), 245 older than five years...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Hmm... I'm wondering, say you want to play the ridiculous cards like Brimaz and Hero of Bladehold simply because playing with powerful cards is exhilarating. How do you build an interesting environment around that?

    Blacksmithy's Cube

It's just a screen name, so I'm fine with you shortening it :) I think five is probably fine. Remember you're also running some rainbow lands, so you'll end up at around 60 lands. That's a good percentage I think. Fetch/shock/shock looks like a fine start, since those are good in every...

    Blacksmithy's Cube

It's a matter of time before CubeTutor won't pass Recurring Nightmare and Grave Titan this easily anymore. Behold this awesome 4-Color Wildfire concoction! Muzzio's Preparation on Brimaz makes sure the kitty survives all kinds of firestorms! Meow! www.cubetutor.com/cubedeck/331511"]...

    Blacksmithy's Cube

Like I said, five color-fixing lands per guild (plus some 5-color lands) ought to give you a playable mana-base. If your group is a bit like mine they will bemoan the enormous amount of mana-fixing floating around at first, but don't let that deter you. Explain that at a certain point, picking...

    Blacksmithy's Cube

Immediate Action on Grave Titan obviously, because that card is not already powerful enough. This deck contains some filthy, filthy cards that I would not personally run in my cube, being Recurring Nightmare (which is just impossible to deal with) and Grave Titan (which hits at least twice as...

    General Fight Club

No? I mean, I love Voracious Hatchling, and Chromanticore is a cool payoff for 5-color, if you support that archetype in your cube, but looking at your cube they are not going to be particularly powerful. Sudden Spoiling seems like an improved Fog / Smite entwine card, which is... okay-ish? I...

    Blacksmithy's Cube

A few notes: Faith's Fetters Brainstorm Cyclonic Rift Vampire Nighthawk Goblin Heelcutter Flame Slash These cards should never ever disappoint, except maybe the Heelcutter in a non-aggressive deck, so I don't get why these are listed as bottom end, when more suspect cards (in my mind) like...
