eh, paying and tapping to draw cards is pedestrian compared to what a lot of blue or red 5-drops can do, let alone cards that are both of them.

have people spread their picks on a table and take a picture on a smartphone? it's what a lot of people do to record trades

The art and background on post-9th Elf/Elves look like he's presenting the Weather Channel.

You haven't lived until you've OHKOed someone with Blast of Genius discarding Who/What/When/Where/Why.

I'm running Spellbound Dragon and Blast of Genius

For security reasons, a C/Ube would probably be best (or you could just proxy the Cube, which is what a guy's doing here for a local store). I imagine a store-owned Cube is pitched at people who don't Cube often or who don't have their own Cubes, so sticking to a simple, conventional design...

I'm not sure if any Cube (or at least anything close to the box of normal Cube design) could reach that saturation point though, especially if abiding by the singleton rule. Hybrid is basically all upside IMO up to a certain point.

Harm's Way/Shining Shoal?

I haven't, but now you mention it... I kinda want to. I don't want to uses a gold slot on that kind of effect, but a hybrid version could be decent.

I cut Arena a while ago and haven't looked back. I've grown tired of cards that take a while to generate an advantage; I'd rather cast Toil/Trouble than Arena most of the time. I'm glad someone else finds Blood Scrivener useless as well; there's far too much best-case-scenario thinking when...

James: I used the Magic back sleeves when they first came out. They were ok, but became damaged and/or unpleasant to touch quite quickly. I use them for a smaller, secondary Cube, but mainly because I'm too lazy/cheap to find something better.

Really like Shapeshifter Whelp and Brass Cave.

The Eldrazi Spawn theme looks awesome. If I build a C/Ube or something similar, I'll definitely give it a try. I imagine the extra 1/2 a card counts for nothing because it isn't a 'full' card.

The thing about Standard manabases is that they can't be partially designed to fix mana: most of them consist of 12 duals + 12 buddy lands before they even consider the Innistrad spell lands or anything else. In Cube, even if you take as much fixing as you can you'll only realistically end up...

wow, Rain of Daggers looks sweet. If my Cube was more creature-centric, I'd play that thing in a heartbeat.

I wasn't seriously considering Reaver, I just wanted to post a M14 thread and thought talking about just one card would be a bit pointless :P

Some fun ones from the MTGS card creation contests: Primal Avenger 4RG When Primal Avenger ETB, destroy all nonbasic lands. Put a +1/+1 counter on Primal Avenger for each land destroyed this way. 2/2 (could probably be reduced to 5 mana?) Master of the Oven R R, Sacrifice a permanent...

Yeah, I've never understood why a lot of Cube designers want people to have to jump through hoops in order to have a decent manabase. Casting spells is fun! It's neither enjoyable nor skill-testing for one player to not even be in the game because their 9-8 manabase doesn't come through. People...

v3 is an abortion but people have got used to it; it's a mark of how bad the new client is that people are comparing v3 favourably to it. The trading system is clunky and inefficient, deckbuilding is harder, the interface is clumsy, and the gameplay is confusing: there are things moving around...

Absolutely love Gracewalker.
