Protip: When typing out a list of cards separated by newlines, there's an easier way.

A lotta work...
Code:
[c]Augur of Bolas[/c]
[c]Looter il-Kor[/c]
[c]Merfolk Looter[/c]
[c]Ninja of the Deep Hours[/c]
[c]Riftwing Cloudskate[/c]
[c]Snapcaster Mage[/c]
[c]Voidmage Prodigy[/c]

Less work!
Code:
[c]Augur of Bolas
Looter il-Kor
Merfolk Looter
Ninja of the Deep Hours
Riftwing Cloudskate
Snapcaster Mage
Voidmage Prodigy[/c]

Augur of Bolas
Looter il-Kor
Merfolk Looter
Ninja of the Deep Hours
Riftwing Cloudskate
Snapcaster Mage
Voidmage Prodigy

The card tag doesn't like curly quotes, better known as smart quotes. Apple turns on smart quotes by default, but if you find that an annoying feature in an online world, there is a way to turn it off and make the card tags for the Squee's Toys and Hanna, Ship's Navigators of the world work again!
To turn smart punctuation off, all you have to do is go to Settings > General > Keyboard, and then turn off the “Smart Punctuation” toggle.

One trick that probably not many people here know is that you can use the [ c ] tags to link to a specific version of a card by putting a pipe and then the set code after the card name.

Edit: This trick unfortunately no longer works!

E.g. Planar Portal|IN versus Planar Portal|8ED

Of course you can pretty print it by putting the card link in the tag itself.

E.g. [ c=Planar Portal|IN ]Planar Portal[ /c ] without the extra spaces becomes Planar Portal. Preeeeetty! ;)

Note that this only works with the [ c ] tag, not with the [ ci ] tag!

Thanks for using Planar Portal|IN as example ;)

(How do I link to a specific comment on a page?)

Is there any way to filter out Amonkhet invocations from being used in the card tags, without requiring each tag to specify a set? They're super unreadable

Nope, that is, nothing we as forum users can do. I believe this forum uses a plug-in for the ci-tags (and the other card- and deck-related tags), but I don't know whether it's custom code the forum admin could change, or whether it's some library we use but cannot change ourselves.

example image-link: https://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?type=card&name=doom blade

Going by the html that shows up when you inspect this page, it would seem as though the ci-tag grabs whatever the card name correspondents to on gatherer.wizard.com, so I think they're to blame for these butt-ugly cards showing up, in a sense. One really roundabout way of addressing this might be to get into contact with whoever manages gatherer and ask them to change how that image-linking works? :p

What's the best way to get regular size card images during spoiler season before the <ci> tags recognize them?

How do I make mana symbols?
You can either select them from the smilies-menu in the text editor, or you can use curly brackets.
Code:
Colors: {w}{u}{b}{r}{g}
Generic: {2}
Colorless: {c}
Hybrid: {w/u}{w/b}{2/w} (please note that the order of the color wheel/mana symbol is important here! {u/w}, {b/w}, and {w/2} will not work!)
Phyrexian: {w/p}
Tap/Untap: {t}/{q}

Now again, but without the code block:
Colors: {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}
Generic: {2}
Colorless: {c}
Hybrid: {W/U}{W/B}{2/W} (please note that the order of the color wheel/mana symbol is important here! {u/w}, {b/w}, and {w/2} will not work!)
Phyrexian: {W/P}
Tap/Untap: {T}/{Q}

When I comment with a link to a Youtube video, there will automatically visually show the reader a large ‘picture’ of the video. This is automatically done for the first five youtube links in each comment.

Example

My question to you guys is: Is there any way I can control what is shown and what isn’t? Imagine I want only the first link to have this presentation? Or maybe I want all of the links to have this look?

Seems like the basic land piles are broken with cubedeck. See the example:
