Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I ran it for a while and no one ever played it, including me :( In what kind of deck does it work best? Is it playable in any deck that can pay {2}{W/U}{W/U}?

I think it's one of those hard to evaluate cards you need to beat people with. Also it does help if blue is agressive.

Works best in a go wide deck obv, but if you've got juicy enough targets to copy it can work at a rate of 1-1 creature per card.

Also sick hidden mode: Target a germ or Zombie Army token for rout!

I have two questions regarding this crazy card:

1) Do you think it is good? (I support sacrifice and morphs/combat tricks are relevant)
2) Would you count it as black or colorless?

1) Not really because you're effectively losing two creatures to maybe save one. There are times where this will be fine, but it's really only exceptional when you're using it to save an important creature that is vital to your deck's function. I might be selling this card a little bit short given morph's status as a special action. This means the opponent can't respond to gift being turned face up, so the "kill your dude in response to you playing the aura" drawback is negated. It's better than a traditional aura, but still probably not great.

2) I'd say start it in colorless and then move it to black if it's not seeing consistent play outside of black based strategies. The card is only at it's best when it's being used as a face-down creature. It's not very black unless your players decide it is a black card for some reason.

How do we feel about this? I'm reviewing creature fall in my rebuild, and renata is a mono coloured more expensive good-fortune unicorn. Potentially allows the theme to become a pivot theme but at the cost of taking a precious green four drop.

For interest the other green creature fall cards are

But these all have other synergy overlaps. Thoughts on Renata?

I really like Renata. Had her in my prerelease pack, and the combination of a "champion" ability and a team buff is a nice one. Seems to fit well in the CMC spread of your creaturefall suite, and could have that cross-theme support depending on your themes.

Renata looks sweet. I'm not that big of the Good-Fortune Unicorn taking a two-color spot. I'll give her a try in my cube.

What do you guys think of this card as an additional/alternative Bonesplitter? Is the ability to replace itself too powerfull on an already cheap to equip equipment?

Heirloom blade is powerful, but has never been overbearing for me. It offers no evasion or other effects for the creature it's actually attached to. I think a rare well balanced equipment that offers card draw to decks that might otherwise be lacking.

Thanks for the feedback, I will try it and report back. There isn't really much of a supported tribe in my cube (other than maybe humans) so the draw will hopefully not be too strong.

I was looking for combat tricks in white and this one woke some interest innme:

Considering how sweet Shelter is in my cube, a combat trick that has the fail case of cycling doesn't seem bad, and if it works (95% of white decks are creature heavy here) it can easily give you a 2 for 1. Is it good?

Just wanted to call back, this gem has been suuuper good for us in just 3 tests. So easy to get a 2 for 1 out of it, and there are nice tricks with first strike on deathtouch or lifelink. It's soo gonna stay.

Was there a consenus on the uncommon PWs from WAR?

I'm considering adding a few of them, as they appear to be interesting enchantment-like value generators that can hardly get out of hand:

I recently cut FTK and Nekrataal, now I'm cubing Skirk Marauder. All based on things I read here in a thread about removal. I think this step was overdue, further flattening my power level and rewarding synergy over good stuff drafting.

Catoblepas looks like a sweet design. It lets you do some work for your 2-for-1.

Has anyone have any experience with this card in cube?

It seems like a pretty cool blink engine to build around. But maybe it asks for too much? Unlike Crystal Shard or Erratic Portal, you need 2 creatures here, preferably both with useful EtB abilities.

Onderzeeboot

Ecstatic Orb
Also works with Demonic Pact! And scrylands! It needs a slower environment, where you have time to gain value out of bouncing your own things, but it's a really cool engine when it does work.
