Damn it, now I want to include morph cards in the lower power parts of my cube!
Do it.
If I remember correctly, you regularly cube with newbies. I've seen many beginners say 'I play a morph' with a smirky face. They love the mystery. And so do I.
Damn it, now I want to include morph cards in the lower power parts of my cube!
That's an example why morphs are fun and could be not fun at the same time. It becomes a gamble, which could lead to feels bad moments. (Humans are notoriously bad at handling odds and their outcomes).I mean, I was there back in the day, blocking a battering craghorn thinking it was a skirk commando
Both commons in the same set!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Whaat this is sick ! I honestly like the prospect of dual lands with surveil. RIP all my templesView attachment 9173
I'm not the biggest fan in the world of ETB tapped lands, but I'd prefer the surveil to the cycling of the Amonkhet duals or the Tango half-cycle. Will probably test out the Dimir and Golgari ones at the very least!
If you keep the curve of your cube super low, prepare for this to just have hexproof some of the time
have we learned nothing from up the beanstalkIf you keep the curve of your cube super low, prepare for this to just have hexproof some of the time
the bottom paragraph is written in a needlessly complex way for 1v1 Magic.
I don't mind this so much, they had manifest co-existing with morph and megamorph in Khans block and it worked fine. They might also limit cloaking to creatures with disguise to avoid the slightly awkward rules of flipping manifests for their mana cost.There's also "cloak" which is more like manifest I guess? I find this thing they've been doing with this set and LCI where there's two similar but slightly different mechanics in the same set to be pretty odd.
@ravnic
I mean, you could just sharpie out Disguise and replace it with Morph? All of the designs we've seen so far would still function cleanly if they morphed instead of disguising.
I would go ahead and replace every instance of morph with disguise insteadI might make versions of them that use morph instead if there are enough designs I like. But I would have to make them actual customs with different names so people don't think their thing would be a disguise card they know from retail?
Or you know, they could have named it morph and just change the rule that morph has ward 2...I would go ahead and replace every instance of morph with disguise instead
You can make old border customs, but I get itThere is no way I am touching my beloved old border morphs from onslaught block.
Real Bitter Triumph vibes for the flavour text on this one.
