I run it because Cataclysm + Birthing Pod is some sweet synergy, unless you're Hannes and cast it while your opponent has an active Bitterblossom.

I will also attest to the strength of Cataclysm in the double strike deck: Keep Bonesplitter, Fencing Ace, Griffin Guide and Taiga

They do. Because of the way cata is worded, you can choose them as either an enchantment or creature, and they'll live either way.

Eg: Pick Land, Blade Splicer, Leafcrown Dryad and Golem Token, sac the rest
