General Planeswalker Density

Onderzeeboot

Ecstatic Orb
I'm rather stingy with my planeswalkers. Currently running at 360:

My short list for walkers I want to include:

Sorin is getting the axe as soon as I get my hands on that Lili. Tezzeret is the only multicolor planeswalker, other than Nicol, I'm currently considering, since it's truly a strong cornerstone of artifact.dec.

Edit: I hate the legend rule for walkers in cube, so I weeded out double Garruk etc.

CubeTutor says I'm at 17/383.

Stealing an idea from Calvin, I've shifted most of my planeswalkers over to gold. I still run some monocolour ones, but I've made a conscious effort to force drafters to splash if they want to unlock this form of reusable card advantage.

At the moment I have:

If I owned a copy of these, I would run them:

+ Dack Fayden

Tried, but weren't that effective:

12/400

Similar to Eric, most are gold. Only include mono-colored walkers who can't defend themselves. Some suspects may be cut soon like Vraska, Kiora, Ajani Goldmane.

Apparently I run the original Lorwyn five, with Veil instead of Vess, and Koth instead of Chandra, plus BW Sorin, Ral Zarek and Ajani Vengeant.

Which puts me at a neat 8/360

Maybe I have been on the heavy side. I trimmed some of my fractions, as I had tossed in a lot of partial walkers into my polycube thingy without really thinking about it.

How large is your cube though CT?

I have all of those + RG Sarkhan and Karn and the two UB Walkers, but few of them take up an entire slot. I trimmed it down to an expected value of 14.0 - 14.5 per draft.

I used to jam planeswalkers hard, but after playing for a few more years I've converted to team "I hate planeswalkers" so I limit them to those you have to build around or have trouble defending themselves, mostly. Too often they swoop in and steal games completely out from under their opponent, and I thought that was pretty shitty. In my 450 I've hacked and whacked down to barely any:

Sorin, Garruk, and Tezzeret are all still very powerful, but at least require some stretching to reach. When more cards that directly interact with planeswalkers come around I'll consider upping their game a bit more.

17/450. honestly i think everything but gideon and good elspeth are harmless in high-power-level cubes, and even then you can still run 'em (though elspeth is totally insane.)

grim monolith cubes prove ahada right on his points about walkers. the power of walkers in grim monolith cubes revolves around the failure of decks to do anything compelling with any regularity, then the value that a walker yields every turn is a terrific way to quash variance and pick up free wins. so then the question becomes how to design a cube where walkers fit better in the overall ecology (i.e. greater 'consistency.') personally i think walkers self-correct because they're good both in and against midrange

Tezz is so niche in most of our cubes and it's rare you meet a non-powered cuber that is willing to adequately support her.

Utility Land Draft artifact lands. Done.
That's only really piss puddle deep though man and it feels super shallow in the actual drafting process. Give me a little credit we're all very aware of the current favourite gimmick to prop up tezzy.

@LAZ
It's kinda part of running joke that started on Skype. If that doesn't work for you imagine I am fabulously gay and refer to most men as a she in either a sign of playful camaraderie or a something darker hinting at sexual predation.

What kind of artifact density do you feel you need in order to run Tezzeret in your deck?

19 planeswalkers here (19/450)

People still love Tezz over here. They would probably kill me if I tried to take him out. In fact, they want me to add the red artifact land to the Utility Land draft, which I plan on trying.

he sounds like fair memory adept with actually more than one ability to me.

Are the artifact lands a multi pick? Like do you get both?

You get 3 for 2 picks currently (U / B / colorless). I've tried a bunch of ways and this has felt the most correct.

That is a dude, dude. You have had enough.

has anyone else noticed how CFB / SCG videos now feature the players saying "my opponent" and not "him"? example: "so, uh, i could play my goyf here, but i think my opponent [not "he"] has daze." i am pretty sure this is an attempt to be gender-neutral, which just makes it all the funnier because nothing says "sausagefest" like not using a regular ass pronoun

edit: motion to change "my opponent" to "it." i.e. "does it have it?" etc.
