Well then you're set :p

He's alright, I think pyromancer is the better card overall. Costing 3 is a bigger downside than it looks to be, and the prowess on the tokens is relavant, but not in a huge and splashy way (Unless you're winning the game anyways, it kinda doesn't matter how much you're swinging for if he's made 3 tokens so far)

I don't have one anyway, and it's pretty expensive at the moment, so for now I'll stick with my human prowess tokens. But, who knows, good to know that it's not oppressive! :)

Interesting.
I've had this in for a patch or two, and it's been...okay?

That card was so good at keeping me in the game. Waiting for my pyromancers to cast her was rough though.

I put up a few cards for review... again :) They're over on my cube thread. I have made room for Gathering the Clans by cutting an all-time custom favorite of mine :( Thraben War Marshal is no longer in the prospective list, but I didn't know what else to cut.

I think I made that card for soldier around when lorywn came out because I was trying out a soldier theme in cube!

Dude you should totes post my winning decklist all of this discussion pertains to it!

Thinking about stabilizing as black:

Leshrac's Promised {2}{B}
Creature - Human Cleric
Lifelink
When Leshrac's Promised is put into a graveyard from the battlefield put a 2/2 black zombie creature token onto the battlefield tapped.
"Faithful unto death, and even then..."
2/2

Funscorched Reagent {3}{W}{W}
Creature - Dragon
Flying
Whenever an opponent plays a spell you may scry 1 and put a +1/+1 counter on Funscorched Regeant.
3/4

I've been hearing hype from standard about Foul-Tongue Invocation being super sweet for that purpose lucas.

while the dragon thing is probably not live in the average cube, the 4 life is the real deal in stabilizing. Could we tweak that card to work in your average enviornment?

I also understand it's like a 7 point life swing against one of the most played cards in the format: Thunderbreak Regeant

Celestial Avenger {3}{W}{W}
Creature - Angel
Flying, vigilance
When Celestial Avenger enters the battlefield choose one
  • Target player exiles a creature with power 4 or greater they control.
  • Return a creature card with power 2 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3/3

I made a card that is probably too good but

Is that a for or against?
In the matchups with thunderbreak the idea is to spend your downfalls and prices on the surrounding creatures and then edicting the regent because he literally kicks your ass if you try to target it and it's waaay worse if they have the stance. The new infest can also be useful in setting up an invocation.

You can also just counter it, but you feel like you gained seven life when you invoke the regent in spell based control decks.

I'm looking for submissions for sweet mono black planeswalkers and a sweet BG mandual!
Much appreciated! Themes I'm heavy in are graveyards, spells matter, tokens, wildfire, death triggers. I feel like I have enough 1/1 hate as is. Looking for more rewards for going big though. But remember, it's hard to go big without trading really well at the beginning in an aggressive format!

Lots of love,
Lucre

Edit: Here's my first try!

Old Ragged Klag {1}{B}{B}
Planeswalker - Klag
[+1]: You may sacrifice a creature, if you do put a 2/2 black zombie creature token onto the battlefield.
[0]: Draw a card and lose 1 life.
[-2]: Deal 2 damage to target player and you gain 2 life.

From previous posts we exchanged in this thread. There ought to be something salvageable in there methinks. Pick and choose!

Black effects on black walkers

Discard: Liliana Vess, Liliana of the Veil
Tutoring: Liliana Vess, Liliana of the Dark Realms
Rituals: Liliana of the Dark Realms (ultimate)
Black removal (-x/-x, sacrifice, consume spirit): Liliana of the Dark Realms, Liliana of the Dark Realms, Liliana of the Veil (ultimate), Sorin Markov
Reanimation: Liliana of the Veil (ultimate)

So, reanimation is underrepresented, as are typical black creature abilities (lifelink, intimidate, regenerate, deathtouch) and creating appropriate tokens. The easiest theme to play into is a planeswalking necromancer, hunting for the best corpses to reanimate.

Vivarius, Corpse Artist {2}{B}{B}
Planeswalker - Vivarius
+1: Put a 2/2 black Zombie creature onto the battlefield tapped.
-2: Return up to two target creature cards from your graveyard to your hand.
-6: You get an emblem with "Whenever a creature you don't control dies, return it to the battlefield under your control. That creature is a black Zombie in addition to its other colors and types.
3

I also really like the tapped zombie thing but it's kinda bad for defending.

Gurgaz The Lesser {2}{B}{B}
Planeswalker - Gurgaz
[+1]: Exile target card in a graveyard, put a 2/2 black zombie creature token into play tapped.
[-1]: Put a -1/-1 counter on target creature
[-5]: Play a card exiled with Gurgaz without paying it's cost.
[4HP]

Izaus, Jester of Death {2}{B}{B}
Planeswalker - Izaus
-2: Each player sacrifices a creature.
-2: You get an emblem with "Creatures get -1/-1."
0: Izaus, Jester of Death becomes a creature with power and toughness each equal to the number of creature cards in all graveyards until end of turn. Prevent all damage that would be dealt to him this turn.
5

Nazmatath, the Scarlet Moloch {2}{B}{B}
Planeswalker - Nazmatath
+2: Exile target creature card from a graveyard. You gain life equal to that card's toughness.
-1: Target creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn and you gain 1 life. You may activate this loyalty ability again.
-7: You get an emblem with "Pay X life: Target creature gets +X/+0 until end of turn."

Omg I almost forgot about good old Gugraz!
What do you think of him and Klag guys? Are those the kinda cards you'd be into playing with?

ORIGINAL LAND IDEA, DO NOT STEAL

~ etbs tapped

Tap: B or G mana

3BG: ~ becomes a BG X/X Llurgoyf creature until end of turn, where X is equal to the number of of creatures in your graveyard.

#cleverbydesign

Malcolm X - 3BB

Planeswalker - Malcolm X

+1: Target player sacrifices a creature. You gain life equal to that creature's power.
-X: Draw cards equal to X. You lose X life.
-7: I dunno, malcolm x never made it this far...Oh, I got it! Exile all cards in each opponent's hand and graveyard. Put an X/X demon horror creature token into play, where X is the number of cards exiled this way.

Starting Loyalty: 4

#blackpower

So Aside from probably picking between Klag and Gurgaz, and needing a GB Mandual I think I need more ways to support tokens!
Which funny named PW do you like more?

I was thinking something like this:

{1}{W}
Instant
Creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn.
Cycling {1}

Would even echoing courage work?
Is there a red pump option or idea for one?

Thunderjumble {4}{R}{R}
Creature - Elemental
Flying, haste
When Thunderjumble dies it deals 4 damage to target creature or player.
Evoke {2}{R}
4/4

Famaliar problem: Protection on swords sucks, little too midrange, most other equipment sucks (Unless it's too powerful), etc etc etc

How do these look? The dual triggers I think takes away from the equipment once the protection is removed, but I've liked that bestial mask (Spoiler below) was green rather than an artifact.

Poor naming aside, thoughts on my black planeswalker? I thought it came out damn fine.
I think the starting loyalty might be a bit to high, given the flexibility. Having them sacrifice their only creature, gain some life, then draw five cards the next turn seem a bit too strong I think.

I was originally gonna cost him at 6, but I thought you'd all find him underwhelming. Though at 6 mana, I think the edict could be fair. I mean Elspeth's tokens and board wipe at 6 are just all kinds of NOPE to me, so is a potential sacrifice lock all that bad in comparison? They could just play multiple dudes at once. Also, does the wording work so that you can plus on an empty board, because I want him to be able to grow on an empty board.
