Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Assuming it hits mythics as well, it hits about half of my cube. It does throw up issues like cards which are rare in some printings and not others, particularly stuff from From the Vault which are all classed as mythic. It feels like it wouldn't be too much different from something like Balance or Death Cloud, and it makes for a really weird sort of build around deck. I think I'm going to try it out but I wouldn't be too surprised if it didn't stick around for long.

You can google up maro's answer to the question circa 2009- "mythic rares are rares."

Like Onder said, it's real swingy, but black/red decks don't really have an unfair finisher like geddon or upheaval. If you're ok with that level of blowout it's actually pretty cool- red/black decks are typically a ton of non-rares compared to other archetypes.

I'd caution against rare b gone. I found it typically killed each creature I didn't control and 1-3 lands, all while mostly mind twisting them. bit much

I think you should! I love wildfire decks etc but those cards play super weird in decks that don't know they want them.

so, anybody got experience with this? I feel like the fact that it doesn't hit players kinda lets it down a bit, but then again it probably does some serious work with your opponents board state together with a hordeling outburst

It seems extremely comparible to this ISIS bomber fanatic I know. I really dislike that it deals damage back to you, cuz half the time it means it'll be impersonating Avenging Arrow but with slightly more conditions. Could be alright, but I doubt it.

His ceiling is much higher than other pingers--complete board control--however, his low point is being a 2cc pinger that only effects the board. If your environment can support that he is a fine addition to a red based aggro-control strategy.

I would say he would probably be poisonous in your cube.

Speaking of tokens and me trying to preemptively neuter some cards I'm adding in a new batch together with a desire to give red more clever cards as well as interesting 3-drops, is this a good pinger then? Electrode has been performing really well the games I've played with and against it, so having a mono colored slightly weaker version should be pretty alright?
