Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Velrun, you're talking to blacksmithy here. They have built their cube around that, and also are fully convinced that everyone else should build their cube that way as well.

Come on, this is like talking to me and not going "what heinously stupid design restriction have you decided on today?"
But we’re not talking about his cube. I feel pretty sure he said he’d only tried the card in retail. If anything we’re talking about my cube and my wish for a 1 mana looter that I know doesn’t exist.

I mean, I've had MANY people tell me my cube "isn't a real cube" because of the customs :p

They fall into the trap of appearing to help delirium, but don't actually really help delirium because usually they are taking the place of another spell that will actually help delirium at a good power level. Mind Stone is an example of a mana rock that more likely helps delirium. The sac ability is quite good and the front end is more efficient.

I think it's less of a matter of power and more of a matter of speed. If your format is glacially slow, the Ramos cycle goes from "terrible" to "mediocre".

That being said, if you're looking for cute ways to enable Delirium...

I imagine in your environment some decks would want a lot of them (5-7?), given double Life From the Loam.

Cycling lands are weird. Aggro wants them because flooding is bad, but also really doesn't want them because tapped lands are really bad. They might want 0-2. Control might want lots, but not so many that it gets too clunky against aggro. I would struggle with the correct range of numbers to use from the BLB for midrange and control.

From experience, I see my drafters take 0-2 on average. One person might be feeling cheeky and take 4+ but 3+ other people might take 0.

i would take probably 1 of each of my colors normally just to use as cantrips/first turn plays, maybe more if i’m doing some weird synergy thing. onslaught cyclers are just so, so good to have in an environment and having them available to all i think is an awesome decision for play experience

Are they too low tier or can they be good? I imagine they could help with delirium.
They are just 3 mana ramp, like Darksteel Ingot. I wouldn't consider Delirium to be part of their appeal. In fact the kind of decks that wants mana acceleration is rarely the same deck that plays with the graveyard.

Like most 3-mana ramp, they are pretty weak. You might have a cube in which they are useful but they are way below rate even in retail limited.

Cycling lands are also approximately 10 cents each on TCGPlayer, so I think there's very little downside to grabbing 20 of each and calling it a day. The sleeves are probably a greater cost at that point.
