    Sets [CNS] Conspiracy Spoilers

Secret Summoning Article to go with spoiler is awesome: https://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/ld/300 Really great to see explicit acknowledgement that they kept the set size down so that you could more reliably get multiples of commons. I think it's sweet that...

    Sets [M15] Magic 2015 Spoilers

Guul Draz isn't really a 1 drop, you want to play him turn 3 the earliest, though sometimes it's correct to wait longer. Also, there's usually only two outcomes when you play him: either you invest a lot of mana into him and get blown out by removal, or you "get there" and just start mowing down...

    Sets [CNS] Conspiracy Spoilers

At first glance I see where you might think that, but I think the text box is going to read a little more like this:

General Jitte and assorted GRBS, P1P1, etc.

In 3x SOM, I boarded in Twisted Image against a Precursor Golem that had gotten me game 2. I ended up getting there after the twisted image became Ancestral Recall; and it probably didn't hurt that one of the cards I drew off it was Slice in Twain.

    Sets BNG Spoilers

What a vicious hate-bear. Hate-bear isn't even the right phrase, as it's a 3/1. But I digress. Stats are obviously good, being an enchantment probably adds a tiny bit of fragility. But still, for this cost + stats, it would be an auto-include for any aggro deck. And she'll just ruin games where...

General Jitte and assorted GRBS, P1P1, etc.

Precursor Golem won't trigger off of Searing Blaze. "Targets only a single golem" means "the spell only has a single target, and the target is a golem." Searing Blaze targets the creature's controller as well.

    Card/Deck Life from the Loam

Land's Edge I'll be pedantic and point out that at any REL, if someone asks "is that a forest" in reference to your Dryad Arbor, it's legal to say yes. The better question is, "is that a basic forest?" But if this happens while cubing, the proper ruling is to not invite them back. Future...

General Ways to run an online cube draft

Out of Order Sequencing is specifically allowed by the Magic Tournament Rules. If you make a continuous sequence of actions and the game state is legal at the end, it's okay to make shortcuts. The specific example in the floor rules doc is "Block here, Block here, Animate Treetop Village and...

    Sets [MCD] M14 previews

Awesome art and flavor text. Suitably creepy without being outright gory. This seems pretty sweet for Constructed, where I'm sure you'll be able to pair it with Blood Artist for some silly loop to draw your deck. Black has had some lifelink guys as well, so it's feasible that this could show...

Article [Top 8] Missed Design Opportunities: Multicolor Edition

After re-reading Cloven Casting, I'm not going to hold my breath. But besides it and Vanish, the rest of the cards seem reasonably powerful and fun. I don't think it would be too out there to lay out the skeleton of a cube that's pegged around the power level of these multi-color cards a la...

Article [Top 8] Missed Design Opportunities: Multicolor Edition

Vanish Into Memory is the only card on this list that's really a design failure in my book, as it feels clumsy and non-intuitive. Honestly, I think the rest of the cards have great designs. They do what you think their respective color pairs would best team up to do. Abstractly comparing them...

Surprised no one has posted about this yet, so I'm taking a crack at "reviewing" him. 4GG - Garruk, Caller of Beasts Planeswalker - Garruk Starting Loyalty: 4 +1: Reveal top five cards of Library, all creatures to hand, rest to bottom. -3: You may put a GREEN creature card from your hand onto...

General A Thought About Two Player Drafting

Maybe there just is too much damn complexity for what you gain. Like I said, I haven't been able to try it. But I think 2-player draft formats end up being spiky in one way or another.

General A Thought About Two Player Drafting

It adds a layer of strategy and tension to the early picks to not over-invest? And/or you do it after only a few packs? I was trying to be brief with my description, but you could go deeper: instead of each player banning a color, one player must decide to protect OR ban one color, then the...
