Countermagic is naturally good against expensive spells, so including a card that only hits those doesn't seem worth it. It's really awkward when your tempo deck wants to counter a Toxic Deluge or w/e but can't.

If you didn't have a single other artifact creature in your Cube, Overseer would still be a better card than Chronomaton I think.

Given how Delver has terrorized every Constructed format at some point over the past few years, I'm not eager to support it in Cube. I Cube to get away from that sort of thing. Now, Cloudfin Raptor on the other hand...

I like Heroic, Constellation, and Devotion all by themselves, but having them sandwiched into the same block (with awkward spacing because we need a set for Tribute and Inspired!) was weird. Theros the set had a lot of fun cards, and I think JtN is underrated, but BotG is the worst set in years...

yeah that's true I like Sunder a fair bit, but there are so many good 5s and it doesn't do much outside of tempo decks I really want to play Seismic Assault with Pearl Lake Ancient

If they want Dragons to be a thing you need to have cheap Dragons, which goes against the idea of Dragons as traditionally captured in Magic. It's the same thing with Giants in Lorwyn - you could make good Giant Tribal cards, but it wouldn't matter when the best rate on a Giant was Brion...
