They changed the oracle text on Waylay specifically: "Put three 2/2 white Knight creature tokens onto the battlefield. Exile them at the beginning of the next cleanup step." Rally exiles during upkeep. Otherwise, you can use the Waylay trick, but it doesn't work for those particular cards.

Yeah, cubes can really vary. People P1P1 Grave Titan all the time and that's fine. The card is stupidly powerful and a perfectly good. But people often get confused because the typical deck they put Grave Titan in isn't very easy to draft and end up with bad decks because they are trying to...

    General [Design Discussion] Perfect Imbalance

The irony of this whole conversation is that so much of the typical booster draft process depends on blind decision making and a lack of control as created by the splitting of the packs that much of the fine tuning we do on both the design side and also on the player's side is probably...

I'm thinking there is a third factor variable issue here.

Actually I have a copy of Sherlock Holmes. It has precisely zero replay value. I'm only on case 6, but when I'm done I'd be happy to ship it to you at cost.

    The Board Game Thread

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but it looks like Mendes only has 4 farmer spots in that picture? It is supposed to have six. Also there doesn't appear to be a chart that shows the sacrifice levels. Instead there are superfluous boxes for holding components that you can just pile next to the...

    Card/Deck Removal Auras

Yeah I use that mechanic with a handful of cards, its pretty fun. That said, Cage of hands needs to cost 1 less on one side or the other. I went with reducing the casting cost. Strictly better pacifism is fine by me.

Its not that we need incentives to play more creatures, its that we might want incentives NOT to just jam in all the best non-creature cards and the best creatures you. I mean, ok, Hallowed Spiritkeeper is kind of a lame design that doesn't require much thought to play correctly, but it gives...

General How to make white aggro not suck.

I know the 4 drop spot isn't where White necessarily needs help, but Archangel of Tithes is insane. If you cast it when then opponent is tapped out, you falter there whole aide of the board. And also get a 3 power flier that's outside of burn range. And if they want to attack or block any...

Yeah I don't know what's holding me back there, probably just my inherent bias against tutors.

I don't know man, the color pallet on the old black mirage fetches are way better then the updated ones.

General How to make white aggro not suck.

Taxes are a good idea, I'm just not sure the variety is there yet. A Savannah Lion or Mistral Charger with Judge's Familiar text would be a big step in the right direction, but the lion would a powerhouse of a card and the Pegasus would kinda be a weak Thalia, so its tough to get a another good...

Gray Merchant is absolutely worth a spot. You don't need to drain that much for it to be good. If you start draining 6 the card is insane. Its also a simple card to draft around. I find less experienced players tend to go for the devotion decks (so they tend not to end up in the 3-0 category)...

    Aston v Jason: non-green 4C Grid Draft

The 16 lands looks fine, I think the Loyal Cathar and the island might be the problem. Triple brainstorm and vampiric tutor is just so much reliability and nuts with the miracles.

Skyrider Elf great. Its not as mega-curve filler as Endless One, but it fills pretty well and flying is a big deal. I also think Kiora's Follower is pretty good and in a different cube I'd play it, but in my list Quirion Ranger is the superior techy untapper.

Marath is kinda cool, not great but fun with the PtF theme. However, the giant block of pointless text (unless your cube is filled with spheres of resistance) is pretty inelegant. I guess if people can live with the "Will of the Counsel" cards they can live with Marath.

Fabled Hero is definitely my hero. Silverblade is cool too. Any card that makes playing against White/Green more tense is ok by me. Usually its just a question of what runs out first the W/G decks threats or the other decks answers. Cards that change the equation midturn are cool. I also...

Buried Alive is good, here also works with gravecrawler to help get it going. And Skaab Ruinator if you still want to run him still. Intuition is great too in that deck. You could use Squee or Krovikan Horror to get repeatable casts, but those are a little slow.

Sets [C15] Commander 2015 Spoiler Thread

Hopefully they can throw the "cast this turn" rider on some cards to make them "modular". Like, if you cast them early, you just get the card and maybe a land, but if you cast them later you get a whole draw with them. Like abbot, but on a variety of effects.

There is something to be said for a finished product. You know for certain every time you play it, it will be the game you remember. Your knowledge and experience playing the game never becomes irrelevant. The flaws in the game can become part of the unique charm rather then something that must...
