Jason, why did you make me read this with my very own eyes.

I am....not. Part of the casting call included being being comfortable with nudity, and I don't want my Song of Ice and Fire anywhere near my Lord of the Rings.

Froggy, I think we're on the same page here in that it's a lot nicer if these off-the-wall things are appropriately supported (which is what I think Inscho is getting at). That's one of the reasons why I've advocated for paying attention to Funch's (and your!) philosophies--you're really good at...

Sorry if I'm unclear; I'm saying that you actually have a much higher emphasis on interchangeability than the average cube seen here. This means that people will fight over numbers and quality of effects rather than the effects themselves. Either there is plenty of that effect to go around...

Throwing my hat into the ring of the debate we've been having the last few days here, I think the main difference between Funchian design and Riptidean design is that Riptide wants to make better Limited environments whereas Funch's main thing is drafting decks that are as close to Constructed...

Something that also has to be considered is making sure that counterplay is simple. As you said, Brad, newer players aren't going to know what makes the opponent's deck tick, so maybe looking at your interaction to make sure it's obvious what you should be pointing at what would yield dividends...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I ran it for a while, but switched to Sram's Expertise as an alternative because the flying was a little too hard for other decks to handle. I'm not sure if I prefer the expertise, as it's a lot swingier (expertise -> O-ring is REALLY hard to beat without a wrath), but they occupy similar spots...

Pelt Collector Young Wolf Sylvan Safekeeper Swarm Shambler Oviya Pashiri, Sage Lifecrafter The last two are a lot of abilities, but are generally worth it. At least the first three are fairly simple conceptually. edit: Sylvan Safekeeper costs way too much money for me to have in paper...

Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis Has anyone actually run this guy? I feel like he'd be plausible but not broken in Cube, even if you added some of the infinite combos with him. He might even be worth it just for the memories of how he destroyed Modern--I have a soft spot for cards that wreck...

Waker of Waves It's a little nontraditional, but it gets the job done and can be pitched for value early, which is a big plus. Granted, many cubes don't get to 7 mana, and it doesn't have evasion, so it might not make the cut if you're running a cube with Vendillion Clique. The following might...

I think there's a bit of an issue of "efficiency" versus "efficacy" at play here. Yes, the Lessons are not, as a rule, efficient (that is, they are over costed for what you get). However, I'm a lot happier top decking a Professor of Symbology than a Thalia's Lieutenant in the late game because...

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

Frankly, I'm just impressed that WotC has returned to this level of complexity after the legendary keelhauling that led to the New World Order schema of "simplicity. " And I agree, don't beat yourself up about it, Seeker. I've been doing the same thing over and over again this whole spoiler...

Seeker, I like your take except for Combat Calligrapher. You trigger it too, meaning that it's a MV-4 Rabblemaster with flying that makes tokens that are more than twice as good. It's probably a lot better than Emeria Angel, which is solidly average.

Money! ... Seriously though, I'd imagine that Arena gets first dibs on a set as it's an easy way to ensure that Arena is super popular.

I'm with Chris. The combination of small tokens, evasion, and a body that is a massive roadblock is really attractive.

As someone who's been a professional (performing) artist, you also have to think about what other people are getting paid. If you undercut the market, you're hurting everyone else who depends on these sales as well. People will let you know if your prices are too high (whether verbally or simply...
