    (and) Another MORPH cube

Experimenting with more bouncelands seems fine. Because so many of the cards in the format are built around these really clunky mana points, really efficient cards with no real weaknesses are going to sort of over power the rest of the cube. On the other hand, I think its good to have some...

    Card/Deck Blink

There is a modern version of that deck that has been popping up over the last couple months. I would caution everyone that its one of those modern "control decks," meaning its really a midrange deck that gets ahead on slow value generation via 1 for 1 trades and recurring ETB triggers.

General Shadow over Innistrad - April 2016 Trailer

You could also watch the first alien film, its a pretty accessible introduction to Lovecraftian themes  Group of explorers on the edge of space trying to understand the mysteries of the universe, end up waking some weird alien horror that kills (almost) all of them. The second part of...

General Shadow over Innistrad - April 2016 Trailer

I'm just saying there is a weird thematic conflict in mixing lovecraft with innistrad's gothic horror, and that it would probably be better to give lovecraftian horror its own unique treatment. They would seriously need to be more open minded as to the art direction though.

General Shadow over Innistrad - April 2016 Trailer

Innistrad is kind of strange that it will dip into some strong lovecraftian imagery, but lovecraft really shouldn't be an appropriate theme for the set. Innistrad is a gothic horror theme, and the historical development of lovecraftian horror was always moving away from the gothic horror so...

    Card/Deck Blink

Do people actually cube pestermite and exarch in the absence of splinter twin or kiki jiki? They both seem like they are better fitted for low power cubes as actual cards. I forgot about zealous conscripts, thats probably a unique enough effect to not run kiki-jiki.

Which card do you guys think adds more to the cube--kiki jiki or resto angel?

Sets [C15] Commander 2015 Spoiler Thread

Does anyone have any thoughts on the red confluence? It looks really good, but I kind of hate the idea of cube games ending with 6 to the dome.

Sets [C15] Commander 2015 Spoiler Thread

The appeal to me of the card would be the ability to blow up enchantments attached to a bunch of not horrible options, but thats really about it. It looks a lot like a pushed timely reinforcements, which is already a card I'm not a fan of.

    Innistrad Themed Cube: 360 Unpowered

I'm just experimenting with different ideas before committing to anything. I was still learning a lot when I made the original list about design and drafting (as in preliminary cube design) a cube, and thats sort of reflected in the original list. After the penny cube, the whole thing feels...

    Card/Deck Blink

Reference Its an mtg article, so its kind of all over the place with the theory, but protecting a queen is a strategy where you are protecting your most valuable piece, one which will win the game on its own. Protecting a Master splicer is a good example from my own cube.

    Card/Deck Blink

Actual blink effects are pretty good when you run them alongside a "protect the queen" type strategy with a queen that ETBs. If you think of it less as a theme, and more as strategic support, it becomes quite a bit better. The problem that blink runs into is that people just want to put the...

    Card/Deck Blink

Honestly, most powered cubes probably only really want resto, flickerwisp, brago, and maybe galepowder. I don't think there is a UW base strategy it really folds into, and is just more generic value generation in practice. For lower power cubes, the list I provided above I think is pretty...

    Card/Deck Blink

You don't really need to run very many blink effects at 360. These are the total that I run at a much lower power level, which could tolerate a wider range of blink effects if I wished too: flickerwisp galepowder mage momentary blink ghostly flicker voyager staff They are important parts...

    General CBS

:p I've found flashback spells always make people want to make those greedy splashes and lingering souls is one of the biggest culprit. I'm guessing the player was GW than picked up souls in a pack, and decided they wanted some black for the flashback. Souls really is a born good stuff card...

hmmm...it just seems really weird to see everyone else going into two color decks but for a couple players. Were those two guys trying to modo draft the cube, forcing everyone else into 2 colors? I'm also curious, was the GWBR player running lingering souls?
