    Sets Battle for Zendikar Spoilers

Devoid is interesting because it intersects with artifact themes; barrage tyrant, for example, is a sac. outlet for artifact creatures. Not that any of them we've soon so far is particularly interesting--just that the potential is there.

Timbers First Budget Cube - help

That sounds about what I would expect from a more casual playgroup: myr battlesphere should go because "its too expensive for what it does", blue overdrafted, and clunky control decks. Your midrange decks don't look too oppressive, so hopefully they will grow out of it after a while. Way...

    Sets Battle for Zendikar Spoilers

The slow lands are going to be lands that you design a cube around, not lands that you put into most existing cubes. There are large incentives to run them, but at the same there are large disincentives to running them: which is exactly what you want when you are looking to use lands to create...

    General Fight Club

I think thats a question of mana efficiency. If 5 mana instants aren't efficent enough in your environment, I would go far // away, otherwise command. Being able to nuke planeswalkers and hit any permanent is a nice interaction gap filler for a lot of cubes.

    Sets Battle for Zendikar Spoilers

I'm really excited about those slow lands: they look about perfect for cube. Still holding out on my unrealistic hopes that the fetchland reprints lower the prices to reasonable levels. I didn't buy scalding tarns because I was hoping for something like this.

    Card/Deck Graveyard hate

Puppeteer clique and body double both look pretty eloquent, if a bit expensive for some environments. I think I like them the most so far, as I don't like graveyard nuking effects, as they basically just shut down a graveyard based decks ability to play the game. I had forgotten that black has...

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

Hmmm thats at 450 though, no? At 360 a 3:2 ratio of fetch:shock I think would give you something like 4 fetchs:1-2 shocks per deck, which seems to be about where you would want to be. Utility lands than either come from the uld, if you do those, or you expand the land section out to 60.

    Card/Deck Graveyard hate

Haven't played this guy in ages, but I always liked him: Jotun grunt Was organizing cards and stumbled across this card, which I kind of like moratorium stone

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

How did you find it effected the number of 2 color decks, and did you like the 3 color decks? How many fetchs would you say on average a deck ran, and would you feel better with a 3/2 ratio?

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

I'm actually kind of interested in how a 3:1 split would play out. I think you would have more players willing to lower fetchlands down their pick order, allowing other players, that have them higher up in their pick order to accumulate them. If I can pick up 4 fetchs for a deck, thats 10% of my...

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

What if we just go x3 fetchlands, x1 shocklands (assuming 50 land section at 360)? That seems like a less invasive way to increase supply.

    Card/Deck Graveyard hate

I've always been a big memory's journey fan, though that is probably too narrow for most people.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

How about in the absence of easy ways to break it? No bitterblossom, gravecrawler etc. I was thinking of it more as a tanglewire type play, or a way to briefly fix mana for cards that care about that. Sorry I wasn't more clear.

    Card/Deck Graveyard hate

Its a lot better when you run it alongside x2 vault and a vampiric tutor. fetters should probably enter into the conversation as well.

Chris' approach mirrors what I found to be most effective. As an added benefit it helps give a unique role to white removal in the metagame. I would just add prison term and terminus to the list.

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

Its pretty disappointing as far as delver decks go. It dosen't really have much in the way of disruption, and delver oftentimes feels like a really negligible threat without anything to condense down the game. Really missing daze also. :(

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

Nykthos, shrine to Nyx Nykthos, shrine to Nyx cabal coffers I kind of like that. Its easier to run wasteland in those decks too, because they have less color commitments. Wasteland is also good tech against them, letting you push the power envelope on your lands. If land disruption, like...

General Re-examining The Basic Land Box

There are solid color fixing reasons for wanting to run fetchlands, and we can use multi-color cards to create incentives in that regard. Delve I think is another good candidate, and I'm sure there are more. But what are some incentives though for not wanting that color fixing. Why would I...
