    General Fight Club

I figured that was the case, but it pays to make sure. That's pretty nasty. May be worth adding to my own cube. Hm...

Can you tap it in response to the trigger from each individual squirrel?

    Card/Deck Scapeshift in Cube

Does the big bad Gitrog monster himself synergize appropriately? Draw 5-6 seems sweet.

General Decks that have 3-0'd your cube

How does tempt with vengeance work for you? I'm about to add the card to my own cube; I think it's really underrated.

I really like this conspiracy for my cube, because my cube is currently spell-hyped (not gonna say spell -focused-, but a lot of the cards people get excited about are spell cards, as opposed to creatures.) This seems like a great way to excite someone about drafting a creature deck.

I think part of my issue is that my personal cube is just a big departure from the carefully curated engines that Riptide cubers love to create. ...I don't think that's a bad thing, necessarily. It does mean that my evaluations can sometimes be a bit backwards due to the perspective I'm coming...

Maybe I'm looking at this card wrong, and it is more warping than I think it is. That's the wonderful thing about Cube as a 'living' set: If it's too powerful, you can always take it out. I think the effect is cool enough for me to throw it in there for a weekend and see what happens, but I'll...

Having seen both sides of that coin, I very much disagree with most of your sentiment, although that's an argument that does not belong in this thread. I don't actually mind the 'color break' all that much. I think you're underestimating the amount of effort this requires to optimally work in...

It was printed only in Alpha, Beta and Unlimited, and then in From the Vault. It is only used in a single 'archetype,' the price is wholly due to rarity of print. This will be the first non-premium set that it's been printed in. Despite it being mythic, this will likely tank the price. You...

The 'random' effect makes it bearable, I think. Remember, you must pick a minimum of 3 creatures for it to function. The obvious move is to just grab fatties and turn it into an insane card, but think about it like this: The player who drafts the 'fatty cheat' deck wants all the fatties...

A fascinating card. I think lower-powered cubes will balk at the idea of someone just grabbing off-color fatties, but this looks like it could be very good for higher-powered cubes as a way of stretching oppressive fatty decks a bit. I will certainly try it in my cube. Also, you know. It's...

That would need to be 3UB with the lifeloss ability. Not sure I like the lifeloss, tbh. The whole point of the card is to cast something uncastable. Losing 7-9 life to do it just isn't gonna happen a lot of the time, which just turns this into an overcosted tutor that exiles... which is fine, I...

    General Midrange vs Combo Cubes

Nice article! My current project def. falls heavily into what he calls 'combo'. I don't think that's a bad thing, although when Kaladesh comes I'm going to try and swap out my metalworker for something less feast/famine. My cube still has a long way to go. tl;dr- cubing is hard...

As an guy who primarily plays Legacy for his competitive yuks (BUG Delver/Shardless + more recently R/W Goblins), This card is obscene. Remember; aether vial. Before, Delver still had like a 30-40% matchup against DnT, with proper SB hate. Now... Well. I wouldn't want to be the Delver player...

It's worth noting that he starts with very little loyalty, and his plus is a +1. If your opponent already has an aggressive board-state, he'll die fast- unlike, say... Ashiok or Nahiri. I'm going to try him out in my cube, especially since I'm trying to push a URb artifact theme. He seems on...

I mean, these kinds of discussions are always a bit wonky because of the subjectivity of power level. It all depends on the power level of your cube, you know?

I think that's a healthy bit of hyperbole. Depending on what you draft he's pretty insane value, but his activation being an ETB trigger means that simply countering him or pointing removal at him in response to his initial activation is typically enough to either nullify his effect or stem the...

The Monarch mechanic would be weird in my cube. There are a bunch of decks that don't really attack until they hit 'critical mass' and win, so a the decks using the monarch mechanic would actually be really empowered. ...hmm....
