Depends on how many mana rocks and looting you have. I've been able to cut to 17 lands on lategame decks that have guys like looter-il-kor in them. (Also, I really need to get around to drafting your cube, sorry. I haven't forgotten, I've just been crazy busy.)

I don't think he's that deep. He's much more flexible than the medallion cycle, and Grixis can often be a controlling, spell-heavy deck. And as Chris said, he does come with all the bonuses of being a creature. (and all the downsides too, but hey.)

These are pretty interesting. Unlike normal mana rocks, they will rarely 'stack,' and do not fit into the traditional colorless ramp archetype. They could be pretty cool in a heavy multicolored cube.
