Your opponent is free at any point to propose a shortcut where you pass priority and then they [cast a spell / block]. You can then accept that shortcut. I don't think there's anything unethical there.

I'd have a hard time justifying Mulldrifter as a Wind Drake. Lingering Souls comes a little closer to counting, but Hyppie and Chandra's Phoenix are the only real ones that comes to mind, Hyppie being much better.

Oh I agree, I just think Ash Barrens with cycling would be as printable as Molten Vortex that also drew three cards. It's already one of the best 5c fixing lands, better than Terramorphic in most decks.
