General Making control decks more interesting

I've been looking at Seasons Past as well, but it's not doing enough for me as just a control tool. Does anyone have any thoughts on or experience with it as a combo card?

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Alright so to go back to Bomat Courier, I'm totally going to try this card. I haven't got around to making any Kaladesh changes yet but it's a small creature, a cheap artifact, and a madness enabler. It's just a card that fits into a low of synergistic archetypes while also being a fine red...

    Inscho's Graveyard Combo Cube

What do you think of these cards? I'm not entirely sure on your philosophy with respect to this cube but in my opinion these would be great adds: Mirror Entity Karmic Guide Together these add another angle to your cube--Reveillark combo! Again I don't know if you're interested in this...

Yeah actually it's pretty telling that they didn't make this a blind submission process. How hard would that really have been to implement? The only way you leave the names attached to the cubes is if that knowledge is part of your decision.

Snarky Puppy is gas. Also if you like Snarky Puppy but they aren't quite wacky enough for you, you should try Kneebody. Some real next level type stuff.

    General The Draft Exchange

The even more comedic part: I'm not sure they can even do that. Remember, every inclusion must have won a Pro Tour.

    General The Draft Exchange

Man, I really hope when Klug talks to R&D they make him add a bunch of the sweet newly available cards in Shota's deck. It's really great to see Wizards picking a cube that provides a new and different play experience from their existing offerings, Legacy Cube and Vintage Cube. This "You Make...

    General The Draft Exchange

Well that's pretty nutty. I was just over here trying to shitpost by taking boring 5-drops, uninspired gold cards, and crappy CC 2 drops, so if other drafts go much worse than that we're really in bad shape.

General MTGO You Make The Cube

You know how everyone complains how the MTGO Legacy Cube has a bunch of completely unplayable cards at the end of every pack? Hope they're ready for more of that action. People are really, really going to get a taste of what happens when you pick a cube by popularity contest. Love Eric Klug's...

General MTGO You Make The Cube

Yeah I gave Klug's cube a try...my god, was it bad. Tons of unsupported synergy cards, wildly disparate power level.

Klug (aka the Pro Tour cube, aka the worst one by a country mile) is winning by a lot with nearly 50% of the vote. Without a concerted campaign for somebody else, that's the next MODO cube.

General MTGO You Make The Cube

In this thread a WotC spokesperson explicitly says that the cubes can break singleton. In no way was it obvious that they wouldn't consider non-singleton cubes. In addition MaRo at some point stated on his tumblr that singleton-breaking was just fine. Saying they didn't make it explicit that...

Also no finalist broke singleton at all. If WotC wasn't open to non-singleton cubes, they should have made that clear.

General MTGO You Make The Cube

I'm pretty disappointed that three of the four finalists are well-known Magic players or personalities (Simonot is borderline but he's something of a known quantity). Tribal cube and peasant cube confirmed, really really seems like WotC did indeed go with the gimmicks here. I have to agree...

    Sets [KLD] Kaladesh Spoilers Thread

My friends and I were watching the tournament and started rooting for Shota in round 4 as soon as we saw that sweet, sweet Grixis control. Pretty awesome watching him take it down after that. All I could think at the end of both games 1 and 2 is that Shota is an absolute master.

    Sets [KLD] Kaladesh Spoilers Thread

Early returns from the Pro Tour: Torrential Gearhulk looking pretty nuts in the hands of Shoota Yasooka. Flashing back counterspells, cantrips, and the occasional Glimmer of Genius is more than enough alongside the 5/6 flash body. It pretty much enables every control deck in the room...

In my experience Hydra really only costs about 6, and this goes double when your cube is really low-curve.
