Yeah actually it's pretty telling that they didn't make this a blind submission process. How hard would that really have been to implement? The only way you leave the names attached to the cubes is if that knowledge is part of your decision.

Snarky Puppy is gas. Also if you like Snarky Puppy but they aren't quite wacky enough for you, you should try Kneebody. Some real next level type stuff.

Yeah I gave Klug's cube a try...my god, was it bad. Tons of unsupported synergy cards, wildly disparate power level.

Klug (aka the Pro Tour cube, aka the worst one by a country mile) is winning by a lot with nearly 50% of the vote. Without a concerted campaign for somebody else, that's the next MODO cube.

In this thread a WotC spokesperson explicitly says that the cubes can break singleton. In no way was it obvious that they wouldn't consider non-singleton cubes. In addition MaRo at some point stated on his tumblr that singleton-breaking was just fine. Saying they didn't make it explicit that...

Also no finalist broke singleton at all. If WotC wasn't open to non-singleton cubes, they should have made that clear.

I'm pretty disappointed that three of the four finalists are well-known Magic players or personalities (Simonot is borderline but he's something of a known quantity). Tribal cube and peasant cube confirmed, really really seems like WotC did indeed go with the gimmicks here. I have to agree...

My friends and I were watching the tournament and started rooting for Shota in round 4 as soon as we saw that sweet, sweet Grixis control. Pretty awesome watching him take it down after that. All I could think at the end of both games 1 and 2 is that Shota is an absolute master.

In my experience Hydra really only costs about 6, and this goes double when your cube is really low-curve.
