Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

The real dream is to do it with Crucible of Worlds and really get to go deep, but Loam seemed more on topic for the thread.

Card/Deck GREEN: Land Attack / Lands Matter

It seems like you've got a good bit of advice on most of what you talked about from the above posters, but I'd like to touch more on the Life from the Loam/Raven's Crime/Smokestack type thing, since it's more up my alley and more my area of experience. So here goes: obviously the center of any...

I suspect a lot of the {B/G}/{G/W} distinction comes from the fact that green's really a split color. It has a lot of aggressive elements and a lot of controlling elements, and frequently its cards are two-way in those two paradigms. Tireless Tracker is a prime example. It's very powerful but...

General Making control decks more interesting

I should note I already have the Gifts-Rites package going and think it's cool with certain creatures. Just really, really not a fan of the Sphinx of the Final Word. Anyway it's pretty much always better to be digging up and building in more Gifts interactions. IMO Gifts is much less specialized...

General Making control decks more interesting

The Splendid Reclamation was here mostly for style points, and because it often goes (in my cube) in Depths/Stage combo decks. More realistically Gifts here would be fetching Raven's Crime, Worm Harvest, or Deep Analysis as the fourth card in the pile. I think it's not actually all that slow...

General Making control decks more interesting

Takes less deck space, takes more cube space. I'm not interested in having a big dumb uninteresting creature in my cube, and Gifts for Unburial Rites and a fatty hardly counts as making control decks more interesting IMO. RIP Twin, favorite deck of all time

General Making control decks more interesting

What an odd distinction to make. This thread has a lot of Gifts and Loam things going on anyway and it's a tight package that can be included in a control deck at the cost of 3 slots to quickly close out the game. No reason control decks can't win with a combo.

LSV also spent some time streaming today with a Paradoxical Outcome Mentor deck. This game is a pretty sick demonstration of the kinds of shenanigans you can get up to, and of course everyone is always up for watching LSV.

Did anyone else have the pleasure of seeing someone go off with Paradoxical Outcome in Vintage this weekend? Card is delightfully nutty. Makes me want to try to get it to work in Cube somehow, or at least to figure out a way to replicate that bomby, tons of spells in a turn feel.

Hadn't looked at the spoilers yet; thought Magus of the Will was a harebrained custom card until I saw the set symbol. Yeah WotC. That's what I'm talking about.

    General Custom Cards: The Lab

It's a lot of text but in a cube situation where you're playing either of these two cards, the complexity is really really not an issue. All this does is support two narrow archetypes with one card, saving space and adding depth. I will concede that it still says Prized Amalgam.

    Sets Commander 2016 Spoilers

It's pretty conditional though. It turns an alpha strike into suicide in some situations when your opponent has 4 mana up, and you don't have access to a removal spell at instant speed, and they have the ability to crack back for lethal (ie they have the same or higher life total than you to...

    Sets Commander 2016 Spoilers

I think he'll get there in my cube, there's a lot of random Executioner's Capsule type stuff floating around. Plus people are starting to mess around more with Chromatic Star and that's something of a combo.
