Thats a fair argument. I'm still in the mindset where low power = pauper/peasent, and am a bit slow to take into account pre-NWO common design. I suppose higher cc reanimates like unburial rites or dread return are actually better examples of "low power" reanimation, as odd as that might seem...

That and you don't really need to switch to sorcery speed removal to accommodate aggro decks whose strategy revolves around perceived pressure: I think the quickest way to lose to fabled hero is to try to bolt it on the attack step.

I'm pretty happy with running the pieces singleton at this point. While its a deck you don't want to see too much, the feeling of exhilaration a player gets from piloting it is so great, I don't want to lose it completly. hmmm.....what was the total shell you were thinking to run with...

Pauperish power level for me, though I suppose anywhere you could reasonably squeeze bouncelands and land untappers would be good enough. I know meltyman runs them in his environment, which is pretty high powered, so I don't know. Anyways, this was the culprit that caused me to gut a lot of my...

More of less. People generally want to relax and have fun during cube draft and storm condenses the game in a way that I found many players don't enjoy. If you have players open to a more cut throat or competitive environment, than you could probably start putting something together.

Its actually really easy to support non-poisonous storm in unpowered environments because of bouncelands. The problem is the deck just murders everything.

You know, I don't think its really necessary for this game to be expensive for people to enjoy it: both pauper and peasent are fine formats, which can become much better with a few simple card tweeks or erratas for local groups (e.g. evolving wilds that dosen't CIPT). Budget cubes can offer...

Card/Deck Archetypes - Going Big with BR

Do you have an example of one of the peasent lists Lucre? I just have that attrition G/R list you posted earlier in my head. B/R has a lot of removal, card selection/draw, and attrition elements; but I tend to think more G/B, because of how strong the midrange value cards are to return to hand.

You also have monastery mentor now as a kill option. I ended up cutting the actual storm cards in my cube, though I am running familiar storm rather than traditional storm.

Article Learning From Pauper – Rethinking Archetype Design

I couldn't find any actual decent articles going over aggro archetypes. However, to make a long story short, I think what makes pauper aggro unique is that they have access, in various degrees, to some forms of reusable removal or threat protection: 1. Vines of vastwood/pump spells in mono...

The meta just had a huge change with the banning of treasure cruise (thank god), but this is the best intro article to the meta I can find. Unfortunatly, because wizards canceled the daily events for a while, everyone stopped writing, and thus good content going over the aggro decks is going...

Article Learning From Pauper – Rethinking Archetype Design

I was very reluctant to take examples or discuss cube's I haven't played, and wanted to generally avoid a semantics discussion about what qualfies as "aggro-control." Though I do make a reference towards the riptide style gravecrawler decks, as decks able to produce incrimental value with...

From people counting libraries? No, usually when that happens, the libraries are already very low--say 15 cards. The count is very quick, and dosen't feel like it really slows things down; and this is coming from someone who hates shelldock isle for the time it wastes.

I think you'll be fine. You just need to have some sort of instant speed card draw for the "showdown" upkeep phase, and you have a lot of cycling to cover that. I'm probably not the best person to comment on how much support you need, but I think if you can dig 8 cards in a 40 card draft...
