General Boros has a really, really boring theme. Alternatives?

I think Eric hit the nail on the head: it will probably be the TV show that finishes things. Not that the final "mysteries" of whats going to happen in Westeros is that difficult to piece together: Jon Snow is a Targaryen (the "Ice" part of the story), who will hook up to be one of the husbands...

General Boros has a really, really boring theme. Alternatives?

Never got into the series myself, but with 14 novels, and the author dying before completing them, it seems like the very personification of that type of fantasy. Dear George R.R. Martin, please don't become another Robert Jordan. :(

General Boros has a really, really boring theme. Alternatives?

I'm not saying the books are bad, just that Martin is likely to die before he completes them. The first three books are great, the 4th one focused on B characters (martin admits this himself) while the 5th book scaracly advances the plot to the point of its existance being questionable. We...

    General Fight Club

Epic Confrontation, since you can kill the creature and than swing in with a damage buff. The defensive buff is nice if they still have leftover blockers.

I really like sidisi's faithful's design, and undertaker looks great. You can run that alongside tortured existence. I also have a softspot for deadwood treefolk, it just seems so amazing with blink or self-bouncers in a grindy G/W/U deck, providing a solid defensive body, and the CC is fine...

I really like the pingers idea with those auras, very creative. Deep-slumber titan is probably too narrow; stuffy doll is a sweet card (and it makes -X -X until EOT removal better), but you have to use the time spiral art. Frozen solid seems interesting as well. Pingers can be a lot of fun...

General Boros has a really, really boring theme. Alternatives?

I've read the books and feel the same about Dany. I think part of that though is George R.R. Martin's meandering story structure: the last book was her realizing that her prior conquests didn't really matter. ugh

Onderzeeboot's Khans of Alara WUBGR Cube

Love the splicer designs. How about a spicer whose ability is the same "copy" effect from precursor golem? That way I can have the fun of copying a kicked vines of vastwood across a golem board :p Force piker looks great, but maybe make him a 1/1 so that people will be more inclined to use...

    The 'Draw-a-Card' cube

I like the evolving wilds plan on paper, but in practice I would expect them to eventually end up being grabbed by essentially every deck type rather early in the draft. Evolving wilds is a great generic pick, because you know its always going to make your deck. The fixing is a tough problem...

    The 'Draw-a-Card' cube

Did a few practice drafts trying to force heroic aggro, and while the basic core of the cube seems solid, there were a few issues that popped up: 1. Fixing feels constricting. While this is hard to judge without playing the list (can't see how effective land cyclers are), I didn't get a...

That mono blue list was a pauper list that he ported to modern and pretended was his original creation. He is a bit overrated as an impactful brewer.

    The 'Draw-a-Card' cube

Going back to the mana base...you can actually run those cycling lands alongside bouncelands, and its great. You can play the cycling lands early, and than later in the game, when you are set on mana, bounce them back to your hand, and cycle them away.

    Meltyman's Test Subject (720-card cube)

I gave the list a look over, and the changes seem pretty solid. Really curious how the enduring renewals play out for you. How has steppe lynx been? I have a few criticisms of the blue 2-3 drops. I understand why you want to run dream stalker, but that card is so weak that it might be better...
