Mana Drain is definitely Tier 0. Counterspell is tier 1.

I played Shandalar again just a couple years ago! Just as fun as ever. Still works on modern computers with a bit of work.

I just run counterspell. I don't think the effect is good on a reactive spell. Would much rather have the ability to recur/utilize lands be proactive (and optional is even better).

Unrestricted feels a little off to me, because you could still have many restrictions, just not singleton as one of them.

Are you actively looking for the "only creatures or PWs" restriction? Because I can also vouch for syncopate, which can hit any type of spell.

I love the flavor text lands, and honestly I would have loved if they were only flavor text. I understand why they have pictures, but so much of DnD is listening to the DM paint the picture in your mind, it would have been cool to go all the way with that theme. Portable Hole is awesome, great...

I do agree that it's efficacy is lessened in cubes approaching or above Jason's power level. The body gets relatively less valuable, and the lower cube CMC lends to A) faster games (usually) and B) lower average CMC of targets to recur with it. In cubes a notch or two lower than that, like...

Plays well in my testing so far! Menace lifelink isn't a weakling combo, it takes equipment like a champ, and the flexibility is really nice! Supplanted my Coffin Queen, which opened a 3 slot for some other fun thing.

does it do push notifications? That would be next level.
